What we are seeing is not creative courage.

It is disrespect dressed up as reinvention.

It is the arrogance of entitled executives who believe they can take beloved source material, strip it of what made it matter, discard the lessons that built its audience, and replace them with distorted reinterpretations designed to serve agendas rather than story.

That is not evolution. That is vandalism.

Stargate earned its fans because it respected wonder, intelligence, courage, loyalty, sacrifice, humour, and the bond between characters and audience. You do not casually throw that away.

You do not abandon the soul of something loved by millions and then act surprised when the people who loved it feel betrayed.

We have seen this pattern before.

Snow White, The Odyssey, and other recent examples have shown what happens when decision-makers confuse ownership with understanding.

They may control the rights, the budgets, and the boardrooms, but they do not own the meaning these stories have carried for generations of viewers.

I directed the pilot. I know what Stargate meant at the beginning. I know what it was built on.

And I know that what hurts most today is not simply that a show has been cancelled. It is that the people entrusted with protecting its legacy appear to have forgotten why that legacy existed in the first place.

To the fans: your anger is not misplaced.

Your disappointment is not childish. Your grief is not nostalgia. It is the natural response of people who recognise when something they loved has been mishandled by those who should have known better.
Stargate deserved respect.
