Caring Majority Rising is thrilled to announce that we are endorsing @DelgadoforNY for Governor of New York State!
⭐️ Here's why he's our pick:
He's listened deeply to home care workers and consumers, has been the highest-ranking state official to rally alongside us to demand accountability, and questioned why Governor Kathy Hochul is giving away our Medicaid dollars to private equity and insurance companies.
He's made clear that he values care workers, and that older and disabled New Yorkers deserve better than corporate exploitation - they deserve the dignity of living and aging in their own homes and communities.
Recently, Delgado joined our Care Not Corruption campaign launch and signed onto our campaign platform. Among his promises:
✅ Pass Fair Pay for Home Care
✅ Eliminate private equity and private insurance middlemen from NY’s home care system
✅ Reinstate trusted fiscal intermediaries to #SaveCDPAP
✅ Tax the Rich to defend Medicaid
✅ Pass the NY Health Act for single-payer, universal health care
And he’s not taking a dollar from corporate PACs! Meanwhile, @GovKathyHochul handed our home care to Wall Street and refused to course-correct even as the evidence of PPL’s failure mounted.
New Yorkers deserve a Governor who cares, and with enough people power, that reality is in reach.
This morning we gathered in Brooklyn's Little Haiti neighborhood to demand protections for Haitian immigrant home care workers as the U.S. Supreme Court prepares to rule this summer on Temporary Protected Status for Haitian immigrants living and working in the United States.
Haitian immigrants are essential to New York City’s home care industry, caring for elderly and disabled neighbors, showing up every day to provide the personal assistance that allows New Yorkers to remain in their homes and out of costly institutions. New York's home care industry is facing a compounding crisis: immigrant workers already battling wage theft and low wages now face the threat of losing their legal right to work entirely.
We’re demanding both fair wages and labor protections for home care workers and urgent action to shield the immigrant workforce that the industry cannot function without.

Last week, @CaringMRising and I went to Albany with one message: Do your job, Mr. DiNapoli. You have the power to stand up for families like Doris and Sarah. You just need to use it.
Proud to earn the endorsement of Caring Majority Rising, a statewide movement of home care workers, older and disabled New Yorkers, and family caregivers fighting for a care system that puts people before profit.
Every New Yorker deserves access to quality care, and every care worker deserves fair pay, safe working conditions, and dignity on the job. The collapse of CDPAP made clear what happens when Medicaid dollars are handed to corporations without accountability, and in the State Senate I’ll fight to ensure public dollars go directly toward care, not corporate middlemen.
I’m honored to stand with Caring Majority Rising in building a New York where older adults and people with disabilities can live independently in their communities with the care they deserve.
Some of our amazing Candidates Who Care endorsees are joining us next Tuesday outside of PPL’s Manhattan HQ to demand an end to private equity profiteering in home care and transparency over how our Medicaid dollars are spent.
Join us at PPL HQ with the Candidates Who Care next Tuesday, June 9 from 11:30 AM to 1 PM!

This morning, I was proud to stand in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors across New York. Tom DiNapoli has chosen to invest half a billion dollars into Palantir - our tax dollars financing their terror.
He can divest at any time. He can audit municipalities and help root out collusion with ICE. He won’t. We will.
This morning, I was proud to stand in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors across New York. Tom DiNapoli has chosen to invest half a billion dollars into Palantir - our tax dollars financing their terror.

I was proud to stand with @CaringMRising today to ask Mr DiNapoli a simple question: Why hasn’t he used his constitutional power to audit the PPL contract executed 512 days ago?
And to demand that he simply do his job on behalf of the home care workers and consumers whose lives have been thrown into chaos. Yet he refuse to act. 512 days. No action. No oversight. No accountability for this private equity-owned company. And all while New Yorkers’ lives are being put at risk.
New Yorkers deserve a Comptroller who actually uses the power of the office to hold corporations accountable. As Comptroller, I will launch a full audit of PPL on day one.
NEWS: New York is doling out $1.5 billion+ in new funding to the politically influential health care industry, while offering no direct assistance to ~1.5 million New Yorkers expected to lose low-cost insurance coverage due to #HR1.
This is what a #CareNotCorruption candidate looks like!
The $12B CDPAP program has been collapsing under DiNapoli’s watch and he has done nothing while workers go unpaid and 200,000+ have left the program.
@drewforny for Comptroller! Thanks for joining us in Albany to deliver “The People’s Audit.”
BREAKING: Home care workers, consumers, and @drewforny delivered 'The People's Audit' to Comptroller DiNapoli's Albany office.
DiNapoli refuses to audit PPL's $11 billion CDPAP program, so we did it ourselves. 200k+ workers and consumers have fled the program. Workers aren't getting paid. And the Comptroller has done nothing.

This was my first budget, and I was deeply frustrated, and frankly shocked, by just how undemocratic the negotiation process was.
Hochul dragged out the budget as long as possible to wear down the legislature. But we refuse to give up, and will continue fighting to tax the rich!
Proud to earn the support of @CaringMRising for my re-election campaign!
As a nurse and longtime caregiver to an older relative, I understand the need for fairly compensated and culturally competent home care services.
Our district depends on good home care!

Proud to earn the endorsement of @CaringMRising and be recognized as a Candidate Who Cares.
Everyone deserves access to quality care, and every care worker deserves fair pay, safe working conditions, and respect. We need a home care system that puts people before profits.
“A refrain he referred back to frequently: The office should be acting far more aggressively and urgently. 'We have power, we just need to use it,' said Mr. Warshaw.”
On June 23, New Yorkers will have a choice for the first time in 20 years. Together, we can choose change.

Proud to be endorsed by @CaringMRising, fighting for justice for older & disabled New Yorkers and the incredible workers who take care of them.
NY needs a home care system that ensures taxpayer dollars go directly to care and not to enriching corporate middlemen.
Proud to be endorsed by @CaringMRising. Together, we'll fight for a NY that works for our seniors, disabled NYers, family caregivers, and the home care workers who support our loved ones, not corporations looking to turn a profit on care.
