@hyoukaxrox I’m okay with the interface being different. I mean: it’s a different platform, so yeah. I’ve also heard speed is the result of the “instance” you choose and the popular ones are getting crushed.
@yul_native Yeah. This is what I hear a lot. It only seems difficult because it’s different. Someone said “instances” are like email addresses. You can choose gmail or Yahoo (or Hotmail, if you’re my dad), but you can still send and receive email from anyone.
I mean: I’ve watched some walkthroughs on Mastodon and it doesn’t seem that much harder than changing the battery in your smoke detector.
Which reminds me: daylight savings. Time to change the batteries in the smoke detector!
I’m interested in the rationales for “stay put”. And “Mastodon’s different” or “signup requires extra steps” don’t really count (why would it be the same?)
