Did you know? If you were a First Nations child between 2009-2017 and were unable to apply/or were denied a federal public service or good b/c of Canada's discriminatory approach to Jordan's Principle that Canada must now review your case? Contact 1-855-JP-CHILD or 1-833-PJENFAN
Starting today! Words to think about not using to describe First Nations. Top of my list "healing." Defining peoples as recovery from pain versus building on multi-generational strength and rights recognition reinforces the savage/civilized dichotomy that underpins colonialism.

Clarification: The child welfare portion of Budget 2016 was prepared in the fall of 2015- before the Tribunal ruled and not altered after. 684 million was allocated over 5 years but close to 80% remains in federal coffers for future years or retained to cover INAC costs.
Think gov’t should put off making sure First Nations have clean drinking water? Try going without water from a tap for a week and then ask yourself that same question. https://t.co/gxKnppJT9g
