The Helsinki Court of Appeal has overturned the life imprisonment sentence for Voyislav Torden, one of the leaders of the Russian group "Rusich," who was accused of war crimes. Instead, he was sentenced to 12 and a half years in prison.

One of the charges dismissed on appeal concerned a Rusich symbol carved into the cheek of a Ukrainian soldier with a sharp object. The court found that this case does not qualify as a war crime.

17-year-old Oleh Shpychka from Sumy region was severely injured in a Russian FPV drone attack in September 2025 as he was riding home on his scooter after school.

Oleh lost his leg but made an improvised tourniquet out of a bag strap to stop the bleeding. Oleh's friend called for help. Oleh lost an eye, suffered multiple shrapnel wounds, a punctured chest, and required an amputation.

He had to endure complex surgeries, lengthy treatments and rehabilitation. Just one week after receiving his prosthetic leg, Oleh was walking independently.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs presented the "Children Heroes 2026" award to Oleh.

Russia keeps destroying warehouses full of food across Ukraine.

Major supermarket chains across the country are warning about delays and disruptions in food deliveries as Russia continues attacking the warehouses and logistics infrastructure that keep stores supplied.

According to Ukraine’s Agriculture Minister, Russian strikes have destroyed roughly 90% of the logistics infrastructure used by food retail chains.

Russia is deliberately making everyday life harder for millions of Ukrainians.

Every single day, Russian attacks bring Ukrainians pain and grief.

▪️ Russian forces launched an FPV drone at an apartment building in Zaporizhzhia, injuring two people, including a teenager. In the region, Russian forces also struck a fire and rescue unit. A fire engine and a passenger car were also damaged.

▪️ Warehouses caught fire in Kyiv’s Desnianskyi district. It was the fifth air raid alert in the capital since midnight, triggered by an attack involving Russian jet-powered drones.

▪️ A large fire broke out at warehouse facilities in Boryspil, Kyiv region, sending thick black smoke across the area.

▪️ A Nova Poshta truck was attacked with a Molniya drone in Kharkiv region. The vehicle caught fire, and the driver was injured.

▪️ Russian forces carried out an airstrike on central Sloviansk in Donetsk region early in the morning. An entrance to a five-story apartment building was destroyed, while at least 32 apartment buildings, a hotel, a kindergarten, and vehicles were damaged. Four people were injured.

An apartment building in Kramatorsk was also struck.

▪️ Russian forces struck a Nova Poshta terminal in Odesa region, sparking a fire that has since been extinguished.

Russia killed two Kherson residents and wounded five more in the morning

A drone struck a healthcare facility in the city centre at about 06:40, injuring a 62-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman who work there, the local authorities reported.

Around 06:00 another drone hit central Kherson and wounded a 62-year-old woman, who reached hospital with a concussion and shrapnel wounds to her face, left eye, neck, and legs.

A later drone attack in the city centre killed a man whose identity is still being established, and shelling at about 10:40 killed an elderly woman.

Drones also wounded a 33-year-old man in the Korabelnyi district and an 84-year-old man downtown, the Kherson Oblast Military Administration said.

This is the human safari Kherson has lived with for months: Russian drone crews hunting people in the open in a city Russia cannot take.

In the 24 hours to 06:00 today, Russian air, drone, and artillery attacks across the oblast injured 16 people, damaged 11 apartment blocks and 15 houses, and forced 31 more residents to evacuate.

russia continues to withhold information about Ukrainians in its captivity. Many prisoners of war and detained civilians remain unaccounted for, while access to places of detention is severely restricted. In occupied territories and along the frontlines, there are also places where the bodies of fallen Ukrainian defenders may remain inaccessible, leaving families without even the ability to bring their loved ones home.

Not knowing is its own kind of torture.

Every missing Ukrainian has a name. A family. A life.

Their families deserve answers. They deserve the truth.
