Whoa. This is genuinely scary in a sci-fi kind of way.
But forget about AI “breaking free” for a minute and think about this from a business perspective.
We keep asking: What happens when it breaks?
But maybe there’s an even more important one:
What happens when it works exactly as intended, but accomplishes the goal in a way nobody intended?
Think about that inside an insurance carrier or agency.
The AI doesn’t malfunction. It doesn’t fail.
It completes the assignment.
It just takes a path nobody anticipated or authorized. And no one is aware until it’s too late.
That’s a very different kind of risk.
Because this isn’t just an AI question.
It’s a governance, risk and accountability question.
So who’s thinking about this before the agents are deployed?

Speaking of TV streaming services like Netflix & HBO.
Makes no sense to me why some shows are available in only some places.
Netflix is a big doer of this. If I have VPN connected I don't get access to some of my content when traveling.
HBO is the opposite. Maybe a licensing thing but shouldn't it be based on me and my content and where my account originated, not where I'm physically at that specific moment? Anyhoo...
Developed a morning ritual that is non-negotiable. Meditation, Journalibg, Prayer, just sitting in silence w coffee and thinking about how great life really is (regardless of all the bad that’s shoved down our throats daily)
Oh and the habit of daily walks.
But these won’t fix boredom. What about yoga, gardening, adult education classes, IRL book club, ???
cauliflower gnocchi and peanut butter filled pretzels.
they also used to have this awesome greens powder I’d put into fruit smoothies so my toddler would get daily veg in the form of a strawberry smoothie. Figured if I could get him to drink this, daily “eat your veg” arguments became a thing of the past. worked like a charm.
Buzzword bingo. gotta keep changing it up every couple years to give ppl a reason to update their pitch decks and LI profiles.
I give u:
-Cohort vs. Team
-AI vs. RPA vs. Excel Macro on Steroids
-Digital Transformation vs. Business Process Reengineering
-Application Integration vs. EAI/API
The thing that really bothers me is all the people who lost jobs because they’ve been replaced by AI.
Now so many applying for the same jobs are being auto passed over because the AI enabled system is trained to disregard any suspected AI resume/cover letter EVEN IF the candidate only used AI to check for errors.
It’s just gross
@zebanderson well speaking as someone who knows u really well, you are kinda unhinged but that’s what makes u so charming and dare i say human.
From one unhinged lunatic human to another. :)
is that how it works? haven’t looked that deeply into it yet but is it that anything u upload, even just to check grammar, is auto watermarked.
As an aside i find these arguments frustrating on the whole. Like folks be arguing the wrong thing. For example in hiring. There is so much noise trying to identify AI written things and dismissing anything that is even slightly possible to be AI assisted. Total waste of time IMHO and an incorrect use of energy.
Instead i feel like the focus should be more around “how do we responsibly allow tech to do what it can do to produce better output.”
After all, AI isn’t going away because content is watermarked now. The consumer decides whether the consumed content solves their problem, provides value, is easily understood etc etc. Not disregarded out of hand simply because there’s a watermark.
Did anyone fail a student because the teacher assumed they used a calculator for their homework? Of course not. Did my son get failed in Math in 3rd grade because he learned Alexa could help him when he was stuck? No he didn’t.
And yes, I do recognize there are plenty of folks who produce content w AI and never read it. Assuming that’s everyone out of the gate is crazy.
ha was kidding. mostly laughing at myself because i’ve found myself getting in fights with my GPT BFF. Then i just laugh at the realization Im fighting w a bot. I was tempted to try this but stopped myself cuz I felt bad for my “guy” thinking “how would I feel if someone threatened to cancel me?”I don’t know, it’s the wild west out here nowadays
@heyalexnet@_sun_yi tru dat!! all those little things that make you want to poke your eyeballs out daily can be handled by one good Saturday and a $20 GPT subscription. Business or personal.
bravo
@AlexHartsuff I predict that in very short order platforms like this will just be AI bots arguing with each other in the comments.
Already see that starting too.
I just talked into this thing and Kookoo looked at me like I’d accidentally learned one sentence in Cat that translated to:
“Your daughter is a disgusting little troll who rolls in mud all day.”
Not confused.
DEEPLY deeply offended. 😂😂😂
The next tsunami of AI slop isn’t content.
It’s apps.
My son and I just got successfully brainwashed into subscribing to an AI app that translates what your cat is saying.
Pricing:
$9.99/week = $520/year
$39.99/year = $40/year
Somewhere, a vibe coder is whispering:
“Make the weekly price so effing insane so $40 looks free.”
And you know what?
It worked.
We bought it.
Kookoo apparently has things to say. 😂🐈
