@amyjbeecham@StylistMagazine Hi Amy, I'd like to contribute as a careers expert. 5+ years of work as a career advisor/prof. in higher ed, and just launched my own private practice. I've written and contributed to multiple articles on careers. I can't DM you, so please DM me for more info or to connect.
@connorcrypsis @gabrielledrolet Once upon a time in Northern Ireland, I met someone who did this and they were from PERTH! I never thought I'd hear one more wild than that, but you win.
@AreOhEssEyeEe Without commenting on anything else, I do want to note that West Point Grey Academy and Point Grey Secondary School are two different schools. Your tweet claims this person was a student at WPGA, but the document you shared shows PGSS. Two different schools.
@AgirlhasNonaam @jaxwendy I was an int'l. student (Master's-level) in the US and sought student services positions. I got an offer, and know others who did too! That said, a rel. degree strengthens a visa app. There's a great FB group for int'l. folks in student affairs specifically - message me for link.
@DrMeghanNorris@QueensPsyc This course changed my life - huge contributor to my choice of career path! Great to see that it still exists, continues to evolve (I took it in its first year), and is inspiring the creation of such valuable resources. Kudos to your students and to you :)
@MegNev@jesslahey I don't teach academic classes, but I do career advising and wish more students knew that one's major doesn't (or at least doesn't have to) define their career. Glad to elaborate more if helpful.
@doctorpriv_ As a white person who has never lived in Newfoundland nor celebrated Christmas, I think it's just a Christian (or at least 'people-who-celebrate-Christmas-even-if-they-don't-identify-as-Christian') thing?
@devon_spier A colleague recently apologized for speaking quickly and loudly and I was like "are you speaking quickly and loudly? Can't tell. My benchmark is way off."
@devon_spier Camp Bongopix near Algonquin Park (if open and affordable), Fitz Hostel in Tobermory (if open and affordable), or Kingston, ON (if seeking to combine a little city life [like WiFi, maybe people] with accessible nature [like trees]; various accommodation options and prices).
@DrMeghanNorris@queensu Learning about this in Dr. Atkinson's PSYC 400 class was so eye-opening (and made me a much more critical user of education research) - thanks, Queen's Psych!
I'm a little late to the party of skimming Ontario's re-opening plan, but... is there a category for strip clubs and no category for education? Please tell me I am missing something. #COVID19ON#onted#cdnpse
