@agentm831 I moved from academia to tech. The similarities have not been lost on me...
I got a long way in my previous life simply by virtue of being one of the very few people speaking plain English. Hoping the same is true this time around 🤞
Why is "the chosen one" always a teenager? We're really gonna put the fate of the universe on someone with an undeveloped prefrontal cortex? Give me a story with a chosen one who is a 42 year old mom that has already seen some shit and is totally out of fucks to give
@kaydacode My 6yo gatecrashed a group feedback session yesterday. I’ve only been in the job four days 😱😂
I feel lucky that I seem to have landed in a company that is welcoming of people with caring responsibilities. I shouldn’t have to feel ‘lucky’ though, it should just be standard!
Today was my last day as a stay-at-home parent. It’s been a long eight years 😂
I guess tomorrow I can officially call myself a software engineer.

In cakes as in programming, I am function over form every time. Both cakes and code should come with a ‘tastes better than it looks’ caveat. It was bloomin’ delicious though.
Happy Birthday @_andy_lord_ !
@ClaireWhoCodes @agentm831 I have no English genes, dark hair, tan to olive at the merest hint of sun. I *still* hate the heat. Give me some nice jacket-weather with a light breeze and maybe a little drizzle 😆
@SantamariaCode Wrote my first lines of code in Basic in 1988. Did a lot of other things for a lot of years (decades). Started learning again last year. I start my first dev job the week after next. It is *never* too late.
@ClaireWhoCodes Amongst other things. I feel like saying, if you can’t tell that this is inappropriate, you should probably stop tweeting. Or actually just stop interacting all together.
But hey, they’re ‘only trying to help’. Such nice guys 🙄
