@MalfuriousPP@MsiDouglas I get that legally Newcastle hold the cards. But According to reports they have never actually given Liverpool a number. The 150 has never been directly quoted to Liverpool. Just seemingly banded around in the press. Bit like how Wissa is not worth £60M
@AndyKerrtv As a Liverpool fan, This has also baffled me to be fair. Unless the player literally did not want Newcastle at all. Or maybe Liverpool couldn’t take any risks at the time and potentially lose out on Ekitike and Isak? All a bit weird though if Isak was the main target.
@Hedley_10 @BNKD013 @MsiDouglas Yep all true. Maybe we’ll reach a point where players demand smaller length contracts? Especially if they’re aged 23-25.
@Hedley_10 @BNKD013 @MsiDouglas Yeah true. And this was kinda my point. Squaring all the blame on Isak seems wrong without all the variables about what has actually happened behind the scenes.
@BNKD013 @JB4t00n@ToonIanB@MsiDouglas Just like there’s fuck all to validate that the agent is behind all this 🤷♂️. In fact, other than the articles explaining who the agent is. No reporter has yet really blamed the agent. Again.. just admit. You don’t know the full story. Neither of us do.
@BNKD013 @JB4t00n@ToonIanB@MsiDouglas So if you are at a company. You worked hard. Helped them win awards. And actually according to various reports, didn’t give you a pay rise last year to comply with PSR. Promised you could leave. Then backtracked. Would you be pissed?
@BNKD013 @MsiDouglas You’re now blaming Isak’s agent? Guessing that his agent has forced Isak to do this or talked him into this. Where you getting this info from? Just admit it. You don’t know the full story bud.
@dingoVB@MsiDouglas Yeah but that’s my point. Those other players have not felt like they needed to do something drastic. Isak does. And we always blame the player for it and never the club.
@JB4t00n@ToonIanB @BNKD013 @MsiDouglas I think there’s one conclusion that you’ve chosen haha. See the Swedish coach’s comments on it all. Even he’s asking people to ease up because they don’t know the whole story. I go back to my original point that Newcastle are likely not blameless here.
@ToonIanB @BNKD013 @MsiDouglas I get that the selling club set the benchmark. But it’s always higher than what the value ends up being. Unless there’s a release clause. And You can question duty of care if promises were made and then not kept. Yes.. Newcastle do hold all the legal cards here. I get that.
@BNKD013 @MsiDouglas And not bright enough to work out that maybe.. just maybe… that for someone to do something extreme like Isak has.. maybe he’s really pissed about something. People don’t tend to do extreme things without trying something small first.
@JB4t00n@ToonIanB @BNKD013 @MsiDouglas Because Howe is a nice man he couldn’t possibly lie or distort the truth about that? But, Maybe he’s not - who are we to really know. Maybe he agreed to be in the adverts because he was promised if a bid came him he was allowed to leave. So happy to stay if that didn’t happen?
@BNKD013 @MsiDouglas So going back to my point then. You believe everything the club is telling you and not the player? I’ve said no one knows the whole story. You’ve chosen one narrative yourself without the thought of Newcastle’s hierarchy actually fucking this all up.
@ToonIanB @BNKD013 @MsiDouglas First of all. When has a club set a price and then the other club paid that exact price. There’s negotiation always in these. But anyways. True. The club hold all the legal cards here. But don’t they have a duty of care too? This is not like the Trent situation at all.
@BNKD013 @MsiDouglas I think this whole “you get paid loads so you should be happy” is wrong. Everything’s relative. Players are ambitious and have one career. If a company promises you the world and then backtrack on it all. Are you pissed and do you want to work there again?
@ToonIanB @BNKD013 @MsiDouglas Is it? For all you know Newcastle promised Isak he could leave. Didn’t give him a new contract. And now have backtracked on the whole thing and essentially said you’re not leaving ever until your contract expires. I’d deffo be less incentivised to work at a place like that.
