The Orioles have taken their 1st catcher in the 2026 MLB Draft.

Carlos Sanchez, a Venezuelan backstop out of LSU Shreveport, goes to Baltimore at No. 290 overall in the 10th round.

Played for Mahoning Valley Scrappers in MLB Draft League this year. Also plays infield, outfield.

The Orioles select LSU Shreveport utilityman Carlos Sanchez with the 290th overall pick in the 10th round of the MLB draft.

Sanchez, 22, played second base, catcher and outfield in the MLB Draft League this summer while hitting .308 with a .984 OPS.
