Some teammates pushed me to stay but when a director calls and tells you ‘If you stay we leave you out of the squad’ what can I do? I look elsewhere. How many times I was close to leaving Milan? I told my agent to not tell me anything. In Italy I would have played for Milan only. I felt disoriented when Maldini left. Last season me and Calabria arrived at Milanello with Paolo’s shirt but someone did not like that gesture. They took off a club legend for nothing. You can feel the lack of Milanismo at the club. If Milan win the scudetto I will celebrate among the fans. If they asked me to return to Milan? Now I want to win here [with Al Hilal] but until there are certain people at the club I won’t return.”
