All the talk about Saitama adapting and getting stronger as the fight progresses is nonsense. He is motivated to have a good bout, like you might hold back while "fighting" with a 3 year old.

The obnoxiously misinterpreted power scale graph reflects an increase in effort reflecting his OPPONENT adapting and getting stronger as the fight progresses. Interpreting that as some sort of time gate for Saitama to scale up is a stretch. Even so, what does that have to do with durability? Who's to say it occurs with any latency?

Goku compromising the Universe is indicative of the physics of the DB universe, not a power scaler. That's why you get inconsistencies like Goku scaling quintillions over Saitama, but that is clearly an absurd basis as their grounded comparisons wouldn't line up at all. It just happens to be that the DB Universe is subject to these shockwaves under the right conditions.
