One of Cameron's early moves on becoming Prime Minister was to shut down the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution and the Sustainable Development Commission. Now Sunak is sabotaging the Climate Change Committee. These Tories don't like scrutiny. https://t.co/T8WypmDfGY
@SageAndOnion Nationally *and locally. ‘There’s a common lament about British democracy. It’s that our electoral system, First Past the Post, systematically leaves people out.’ @benwansell#ReithLecture
@RishiSunak@EnvAgency I hear that Mr Sunak was due to come up for a New Year's Day swim. The EnvAgency advised a delay so the floods would wash away the sewage.
Our letter to King Charles (cc @RishiSunak) about the human costs of British tax havens is in today's @guardian paper.
As inheritor of the British crown & its legacies, the King is in a unique position to support a historic opportunity for change that will impact us all. How?

WE DID IT!!!
Wolvercote Mill Stream in Oxford will become the UK's 2nd designated river swimming site! 🥳
We will get regular water quality testing from this May, and @thameswater@EnvAgency and @OxfordCity must work together to make the water fit to swim in.
Time to celebrate!
As long as one person in the UK is going to bed cold, hungry, destitute and unwell, it’s because of a conscious decision by those who claim to serve them not to use the power granted by the poorest of their constituents to make a radical and meaningful difference to their lives.
Hundreds protest in Oxford over sewage in #RiverThames. So @thameswater how about using your customers’ cash to invest in sanitation infrastructure rather than bosses bonuses? Now there’s a story @BBCBreaking https://t.co/PzurFDerwD
