Combien de personnes mobilisées en France, en particulier dans les établissements d'enseignement supérieur, pour défendre cette cause, pour exiger davantage d'action et de moyens en faveur de l'Ukraine ?
Our film about the Russian abduction of thousands of Ukrainian children premieres in the United States tonight on PBS Frontline. American followers, please spread the word about this important story at a critical moment for the defence of Ukraine. https://t.co/m90QBWgdnK
What an incredible incredible photograph.
It was taken by British amateur photographer Nima Sarikhani and has just won the Wildlife Photographer of the Year People's Choice Award.
James Baldwin's advice on writing and the creative process:
"If you are going to be a writer, there is nothing I can say to stop you. If you're not going to be a writer, nothing I can say will help you. What you really need at the beginning is somebody to let you know that the effort is real."
"When you're writing, you're trying to find out something which you don't know. The whole language of writing for me is finding out what you don't want to know, what you don't want to find out. But something forces you to anyway."
"I start working when everyone has gone to bed. I've had to do that ever since I was young—I had to wait until the kids were asleep. And then I was working at various jobs during the day. I've always had to write at night. But now that I'm established, I do it because I'm alone at night."
"Rewriting is very painful. You know it's finished when you can't do anything more to it, though it's never exactly the way you want it... The hardest thing in the world is simplicity. And the most fearful thing, too. You have to strip yourself of all your disguises, some of which you didn't know you had. You want to write a sentence as clean as a bone. That is the goal."
"When you've finished a novel, it means, 'The train stops here; you have to get off here.' You never get the book you wanted; you settle for the book you get. I've always felt that when a book ended, there was something I didn't see, and usually when I remark the discovery it's too late to do anything about it."
"Something that irritates you and won't let you go. That's the anguish of it. Do this book, or die. You have to go through that. Talent is insignificant. I know a lot of talented ruins. Beyond talent lie all the usual words: discipline, love, luck, but most of all, endurance."
Wow! This is so good. Barack Obama knows exactly what to say, every damn time.
He taps into the struggle we are experiencing in society & in politics with culture wars, diversity and inclusion and the dangers ahead — unless we find a way to live & let live.
“It’s easier for people to agree on stuff when the majority of people look the same, worship the same way & share the same traditions. It’s harder as societies become more diverse, and everybody is at the table.”
Worth really taking in.
Dear Muslims,
The world is scared of us. The world is laughing at us. The world is worried about us. And there are legitimate reasons for their worry that we cannot keep denying.
It is time for us to flush the word ”Islamophobia” down the toilet and start looking in the mirror and ask ourselves:
How did we get here?
How come the largest and most thriving terrorist organizations in the world are Muslim?
How come terrorists successfully use Islam to mobilize thousands of Muslims?
What is the problem with our leaders, our Imams, and our religion?
Why do we keep repeating these stone-age traditions that have failed us and continue to fail us?
The world has left us behind.
The ”kuffar” that Imams tell us to hate have traveled to the future while we are still stuck in the Middle Ages reading stories about Mohammed and his flying horse.
You are reading this with your phone, tablet, or computer, which was created by the ”kuffar.”
The same ”kuffar” that we hate so much have created medicine that cures diseases. Medicine that our religion’s crystal balls failed to bring about.
The ”kuffar” have moved forward and traveled to space. Meanwhile, we are stuck on Earth in the Middle Ages, going to our poisonous mosques every Friday, reciting the same chapters and the same stories of Mohammed.
Why haven’t all of these books and teachings led to any scientific, technological, or medical advancements?
1,400 years of us, stuck, debating: ”Which is the correct sect?” ”What is the correct interpretation?” ”Who is a real Muslim? And who is a kaffer?” ”How can we convince people to become Muslims?”
Why on Earth would anyone want to become Muslim today?
They are all scared of us.
They are all laughing at us.
They are all worried about us.
Delete Israel and the West from the world, and we would still be as ignorant as we are. We would still be stabbing each other.
Stop blaming them – and look at yourselves instead. The enemy is not out there. The enemy is within.

High school students are using A.I. tools to help write, hone and edit their college application essays.
University admissions officials tell me they are trying to catch up.

Twitter ruined my art:
Writing.
I'll explain.
I've been writing since I was 16.
I was a single child, with few friends and an over thinking brain - so writing became a way to channelize my feelings and thoughts.
Entered college, started a blog.
From the story of how we pushed a mouse out of our hostel room to how pseudo feminism was rampant..
I wrote anything and everything I wanted.
I did not "practice" the writing tips twitter bois share.
I did not start with a HOOKY sentence.
I did not edit three times.
I just..you know, wrote.
Whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted.
And people loved it.
Even my roommate who had never read a whole book would read my blogs end to end.
Then I entered Twitter.
BOOM.
Everyone taught me to optimize for the algorithm.
And write for the audience.
Write hooky sentences.
Write for the audience.
Write catchy phrases.
I unlearned everything I learned from myself.
And I followed what they said.
Results -
Overthinking everything.
Writing what everyone was writing.
Trying to please the audience..oops no..algorithm.
The real truth is :
These guys never wrote for the love of writing.
For the love of expression.
For the love of art.
They wrote for the algorithm and impressions.
And and
They bought those impressions from engagement groups.
So..it was all a facade lol.
Anyhow,
I'm starting to write again.
For the sake of expressing (which I'm doing now..venting:p)
I feel angry at myself for blindly thinking they know better than me
And for ruining an art that gave me peace
Now it frustrates when I don't get views cause I write for the "audience"
Never mind,
It's a new day.
And I'm hoping I get my love back.
That's that.
Hope this little essay helped you realize some truths..
The biggest lesson:
Trust what you learn by yourself, from yourself over what internet tells you.
Have a great weekend everyone 🥂
