The Centre for Sport Coaching has been facilitating discussions on the professionalisation of sport coaching in a UK context. Here is a brief statement. There will likely be a follow up event summer 2024.
This work has been the biggest joy over the last 3-4 years, bringing with it opportunities to support and learn from some incredible people across the professional game.
Here, we're (@robertscm) excited to share some of that story 👇📕⚽️

Please re-tweet. We look forward to receiving your application.
Finally, finally, thanks also for the very positive feedback on the programme line up, the quality of the contributions, and the slick production by https://t.co/cdyXmnofWa and https://t.co/o2tx1SRrbK.
Finally, many thanks to the participants who engaged with the programme yesterday. We're still totting up the numbers but we guess it was c350 in total, with c200 sticking with most of the day. Thanks! Our next big event will be July 2022; look out for small events before then.
Another thanks to @jbalescoach, who teamed with our own @DrSergioLara_EU, to make the case for: a nuanced understanding of coaching professionalisation, coach developer development and, improving the policy evidence base. Thanks chaps, a fantastic end to the day.
A big thanks to @donaldvinson for sharing his work using a 'value creation framework' to inform and guide coach developer development. This is an approach that is sensitive to the social complexities of adult learning through the concepts of situatedness and identity. Thanks Don
@DicconEdwards provided a very clear and compelling overview of UK Sport's strategy, programmes and collaborative work that has clear implications for coaching in and outside of high performance sport. Thanks Diccon.
