Bunsen update!
We mentioned in the newsletter and on the audio shows that two weeks ago Bunsen had a bit of limp after a day of fun snow adventures.
It went away after 24 hours but came back a week later after another day of snow adventures.
After a trip to the vet today, Bunsen was diagnosed with a “partial” ACL tear/swollen knee.
Luckily keeping him on rest this last week didn’t make the issue worse and Bunsen doesn’t need surgery as an full ACL tear usually requires it.
Bunsen is on 4-6 weeks rest (gentle short walks on leash) and will be re-evaluated.
Bunsen got a 100% bill of health on everything else!
So Beaker will be going on solo adventures with dadguy for at least a month while Bunsen heals.
Dogs can tear their ACL from doing really anything- running, jumping, getting up on a couch- and I’m positive it was when he went his own way through super deep snow, and jumped for like 10 minutes.
