The diversity visa program is designed to ensure greater diversity of nationalities in our legal immigration system and over time more diversity visas have gone to Africa than any other region. Another missed opportunity for Biden to do the right thing for black immigrants. /5

So, we had to win in court, again, against President Biden to try to get these visas issued. We did. And now, Biden is fighting that by appealing the decision to the DC Circuit. For the love. /4

But nonetheless the Biden admin kept fighting against issuing these 9,095 visas, which is not even the full amount of visas lost in that year of the diversity visa program. A real headscratcher 🤯from someone who claims to value diversity in our immigration system. /3

As a reminder, we brought this suit to challenge a Trump immigration ban that blocked diversity visas from being issued. We won, the Trump Dept. of State slow walked issuing visas so the court ordered 9,095 reserved. Biden took office, he eventually repealed this ban. /2

Falling in the category of 🤦‍♀️. The Biden administration has appealed our #DV2020 win in the Gomez case. If Biden valued diversity in our immigration system, his admin would not have appealed this modest win that orders 9,095 diversity visas to be issued. /1
