Esther's Children by Caroline Beecham
Esther is celebrating her 2nd birthday! This was a fascinating novel to write & like most historical fiction it’s still relevant now #histfic#estherschildren#realevents#bookbirthday @AllenAndUnwin https://t.co/8mvkyPJXcL
Today I’m remembering #EstherSimpson who passed away on 19/11/96 after a life dedicated to rescuing refugees. It’s made me reflect on the current suffering and why it’s important to remember these courageous individuals. @CARA1933 continue that work

If you can make it to the DIVA exhibition @V_and_A you will not be disappointed! It explores how the role of Diva has been subverted or embraced over time, and it’s a great celebration of these icons. A fascinating and emotional journey 🙌 😍 #diva#inspiringwomen

Gabrielle Carey was fiercely intelligent: both prickly and generous. I crossed paths with her at Varuna and UTS, where so many students were lucky to be taught by her. Our mental health system is broken. We need to pay artists a living wage.

The National Library of Australia’s beloved online portal Trove has been saved from the threat of imminent closure after a cash injection of $33 million from the Albanese government. https://t.co/JOrkkK6MCu
Loving this for the same reason as TDOW; the skilful weaving of the minutiae of women’s lives with the broader events of the era to create such intimacy with the characters. A huge highlight to meet Pip and get our books signed 😍
