'It is a recipe for greater hardship which will do nothing to tackle the barriers that exclude disabled people from the labour market, and it should be reversed.' Said our campaigns CEO @CarolineJC5@johnpringdns#OpportunitySecurityRespect

"We need more than lip service from this government around disability rights – we need to see real commitment and action. And that starts with the appointed representatives showing up and taking their responsibilities seriously." Our CEO @CarolineJC5 comments.

If we gave the Government the benefit of the doubt that this delayed access to relevant information was coincidental rather than deliberate, it still has lessons for the need to bring actual evidence to bear on decision-making that impacts powerfully on Disabled people's lives.
On Friday, we wrote to every MP in the UK to urge them to reject the rushed Personal Independence Payment and Universal Credit bill being voted on in Parliament tomorrow.

Private Eye has found that that 281,000 PIP claimants *already in paid work* stand to lose out under the proposed cuts (i.e the four-point rule)
That's 55% of all PIP claimants in paid work, according to the article
(not my article but I want to flag it)

New analysis from @TrussellUK & @wpi_economics shows the impact of the government's massive cuts to disability support is even worse than previously thought: *440,000* people in disabled households will be forced into severe poverty and left at risk of needing a food bank. 1/4

"It is clear that the effects will be appalling, and any proper impact assessment would highlight the likely huge increase in mental health issues, homelessness, breakdown in caring arrangements and utter desperation that would likely follow their implementation." @CarolineJC5
