I've written a piece on the relationship between end of life and the future of the NHS. Part of the #NHS2048@reformscotland series on how the NHS can be sustained and improved.
A very productive and enjoyable day with SPPC colleagues and Council to develop our next strategy doc. I’m very lucky to work with such fab supportive people 😁 #futureplanning
Due to retirement, the acute hospital palliative care team have a rare and exciting opportunity for a senior clinical nurse specialist. Please get in touch if you’d like more info https://t.co/dUOkYfFpCx
@Palliative_Scot@ScotPallNet A great night out with the boss 😁
Very privileged to have been nominated for an award but even luckier to get to work with amazing clinical teams across Scotland who do the hard work and to be part of a very special team at the SPPC 🫶🏻
Finally, we can talk about SEECareUK. The first ever prospective UK wide evaluation of care of dying people in hospitals, with a focus on those not supported by specialists in palliative care. In those reviewed, there was near universal unmet need.

Very proud of Barbara graduating today! Doing a PhD is hard enough in your native language but doing it in a 2nd language is such an achievement 🙌🏻
Honoured to be a part of her supervisory team and delighted @audreycund1 & I could celebrate with her today ❤️

Research shows that employee's willingness to support organisation-wide change initiatives has fallen drastically since the pandemic, across all sectors. A key reason? At a time when people are still recovering, the change is too fast & too top down. 4 ways forward:
1) Clearly prioritise change
2) Build in periods of proactive rest to sustain change energy
3) Co-create change with people at all levels
4) Reimagine the role of managers in change

Delighted that the work of SPPC member organisations, volunteers and staff was recognised tonight, winning a prestigious Scottish Public Service Award (Voluntary Sector Partnership Category). #SPSA22
