November is a very special month because of all the family celebrations and memories. I am thankful for my family, my health, and my faith. To God be the glory. #PISDThankful#ThankfulCowboy@WeAreCarpenter
Restorative vs. Consequence ~ “You can either come talk with me (together) or I will have to figure out what to do without you.” #HackingSchoolDiscipline
The theme for this year is grace over everything, specifically due to COVID. Grace should be a common practice vs. reacting to “something.” #HackingSchoolDiscipline
Restorative Practices: Teachers and students jointly share power and teachers show vulnerability ~ not a me show, but a we show. #HackingSchoolDiscipline
Restorative Circles is a tiered level of support for students. They are also good to use to restore fractured relationships with adults. #HackingSchoolDiscipline
Participants gather in a circle to show everyone in the community is equal. There is no power dynamic with the circle, including the teacher or another adult visitor. #HackingSchoolDiscipline
Students need to feel safe and heard ~ this is not just a fact for school. We all want to feel safe, so why wouldn’t they want the same thing. #HackingSchoolDiscipline
