@ThrillaRilla369 Went to the zoo a couple weeks ago. Got a drink in a plastic cup with a plastic straw. When I asked for a lid, they looked at me like I was crazy. Apparently it’s not safe for the animals to have plastic lids near their exhibits. Plastic cups and plastic straws? Totally fine.
@Kristinartz I’m a high school teacher and we still have this but it’s called “advisory.” 25 minutes, first period of the day, no grades, just attendance. Very low attendance. Basically only bus kids come to advisory. Everyone else comes later.
@ThrillaRilla369 As a girl mom, yes, 100%. And I hope if my husband is ever out somewhere alone with my daughter, and the men’s room is full and the women’s room is empty, and there’s no family/private restroom available, that he would be able to take her to the women’s room without issues.
@arianabellezone One love Manchester then the no tears left to cry music video. I was a casual fan before that and her voice was always impressive, but that era and her comeback really drew me in.
@CuriousBunnie12 It comes after you have the baby and you learn real quick that you can’t heal when you’re injured, can’t sleep when you’re tired, can’t eat when you’re hungry, and can’t bathe when you’re dirty. That’s the ego death. Forget wants. Even your basic needs no longer come first.
@tallsnail For the first 6 weeks I wished I could just put her back inside. Christmas was the 6 week mark and I reluctantly agreed to go to a very small family gathering. At 7 weeks old, she had RSV. I wished I would have just listened to my gut and not cared what anyone else thought.
@mayohiga1 The sound of children crying never bothered me that much BEFORE I became a mom, but after… listening to any baby cry, but especially mine, is an absolutely excruciating and unbearable feeling. It’s not that I find the actual sound annoying, it’s just a need to make it stop.
@Coleidoscopes Breastfeeding was the most excruciatingly painful experience of my life. Felt like my nipples had been sliced off with dull razors then filed down with sand paper. According to 3 different lactation consultants, her latch was perfect. NEVER. AGAIN.
@vegashotflash@julieheglund I was so determined to breastfeed my baby. I studied, watched videos, took a class, saw a lactation consultant, fed my baby every 15 minutes for the first 2 weeks, went back to work 11 week PP, and finally gave up after 4 months. My baby would have starved if I continued trying.
@maxnonso The “6 weeks” advice is crazy. Of course everyone is different, but men need to be realistic about how long it takes to heal. It took months of pelvic floor physical therapy for my perineum to heal from a 2nd degree tear; I wasn’t pain free until at least 8-9 MONTHS post partum.
@GreatLakesWife_ When I returned to work, my baby was only 2 months old. My coworkers were asking if she slept through the night yet. When I said no, she still wakes up for feedings overnight, they told me to let her cry and don’t pick her up. I’m so glad I didn’t listen to them!
@iam_preethi All of this and also: nobody adequately prepares you for “cluster feeding.” They’ll tell you your baby will want to “cluster feed” when they hit a “growth spurt” but like ??? For a newborn every day is a growth spurt. Nobody told me my baby would want to nurse every 15 minutes!
@ofctimallen My toddler had to stay home sick yesterday. We watched all 4 movies together. I was 6 when the first one came out, grew up with this series, and can’t believe I get to share them with my daughter now. Ready for 5!!!
@TheMissingDuck@PopBase Idk I don’t remember anything that inappropriate. One time a 5yo pooped his pants and we all had a serious talk about which one of us should go in with him to help him. We had enough sense to know we could get in trouble, but we also knew he needed help. It was that deep to us 🤷🏻♀️
