@CarteretJill A3) Communication w/ parents changes EVERYTHING about relationships w/students. We have to earn the right to be heard by parents and students. When kids see a respectful relationship between parents and teachers, I have seen a MAJOR change in behavior and work ethic. #BTLNNC
@CarteretJill A2) I find it difficult to find ways to connect with parents that do not speak English / come to the school. I appreciate my teammates that are bilingual for helping me reach out!
@Mrs_Schimizzi@CarteretJill@cafurrelem Last week, students came in and completed a sticky note to post on the board to share Midweek Motivation with peers. We shared with parents so they could see how we are encouraging each other in the classroom! #BTLNNC
Looking at new technology can be overwhelming! A mentor told me to pick one digital tool you want to get really good with and start with that. Don't worry about trying to incorporate all the digital tools at once! #BTLNNC
@Mrs_Schimizzi I picked Canvas for this year! Next year, I would like to learn more about having students type on PDFs and submit work via a digital tool. #BTLNNC
@laytontoteach I would love to learn more about having students type on PDFs and submitting them. I think this would cut down on copies and provide a fun way for them to complete tasks! #BTLNNC
@MrsMcKelveyWMES@laytontoteach I will Air Play my computer screen on the TV and walk students through how to do something specific such as sharing a document or downloading a PDF. When I show them whole class it makes it easier than running from student to student. #BTLNNC
@laytontoteach A3) Technology helps immensely with data collection and review. Students are able to take quizzes and complete assignments. The data is pulled and easier for review this way especially when using Mastery Connect and Canvas. #BTLNNC
Cabarrus County Schools will be closed for students on Monday, Dec. 10th. Students will not have to make-up the day.
Reporting guidelines for employees can be found on the Finance Department page.
A6) I believe that in order to be an effective leader, one must be a follower at some point. Following best practices, taking initiative to learn, being accountable, receptive to feedback & utilizing effective teaching strategies all go hand in hand in becoming a leader. #BTLNNC
A1) My name is Carrie Huneycutt. I teach 4th grade in Cabarrus County (@CabCoSchools) In my classroom, I love to keep fresh flowers on my u-table to make it feel more like home :) #BTLNNC
