For the record, I am not claiming the Big Ten or michigan conspired to rig the Western Michigan game.
My concern is the timing discrepancy. The broadcast clock and replay-center footage showed different times at the decisive moment, despite the conference saying the cameras were synchronized.
I suspect an initial mistake may have been made and that the subsequent explanation could have been an attempt to defend it. That is a suspicion, not an established fact.
What I want is a clear technical explanation: Why did the clocks differ? Which timing source was authoritative? How was synchronization verified, and how often is it checked during a game?
If the system worked correctly, show us how. If it didn't, acknowledge what failed.
Questioning the process is not the same as claiming a conspiracy. And yes, I would be asking the same questions if Ohio State benefited from the call.
@jimjim033@RealAlanScott No. As has been explained many times, vacated wins are the NCAA's remedy for games in which ineligible players competed. Michigan's violations weren't player-eligibility violations. That's why the wins weren't vacated.
@VictorsDucky Dude was 0-5 against Ohio State before the miraculous turnaround that just happened to coincide with the cheating scandal that eventually earned him a show-cause.
Yeah. Terrified.
Yes, sign stealing is legal.
Advanced in-person scouting of future opponents is not. That's what Michigan was found to have done.
Saying "sign stealing is legal" in response is like getting caught doing 95 and yelling, "DRIVING IS LEGAL!"
Yes. Nobody said it wasn't.
That wasn't the fucking violation. 😂
I've never said Tressel didn't lie. In fact, I've explicitly said that he did.
He lied about what he knew regarding Tattoogate.
That doesn't magically prove your separate claim that he orchestrated a player-payment scheme dating back to 2002.
And it's not my fault Clarett later admitted he hadn't always been truthful and contradicted significant parts of the story you're currently using as evidence.
You're no longer arguing with me. You're arguing with things you need me to have said.
So your standard is:
An accusation against Ohio State is true even when the NCAA investigation doesn't substantiate it.
But when the NCAA actually finds Michigan committed violations, suddenly the NCAA can't be trusted.
That's not evidence. That's choosing which standard to use based on the logo involved.
Got it.
@Cameron94522595@BuckNut4868@GBM_Wolverine My dude, you made the claim.
The burden isn't on everyone else to secure a criminal conviction of Jim Tressel before you're required to provide evidence. 😂
2023 michigan likely wins the title, even without cheating. They were a fantastic team.
That said... They did break the rules in an effort to gain a competitive advantage.
There is also the belief that the success possibly sustained from the previous years that were part of the scandal could have led players to stay when they otherwise may have left.
We'll never know. Which is why I ask michigan fans this:
If OSU was accused and found to have done what michigan did, would you defend their innocence they way you did michigan's?
And when the NCAA investigated Clarett's allegations, they found no evidence to substantiate them and never sanctioned Ohio State over them.
But it gets better.
In 2011, Clarett himself said there was "no secret regime," that coaches/boosters weren't arranging cars for players, and that HE reached out to people in the community for help.
So your "evidence" is an allegation the NCAA didn't substantiate, made by a guy who later directly contradicted significant parts of his own story.
You probably should've kept Googling, Detective Farva.
Yes. Maurice Clarett ALLEGED those things.
Congratulations on finding articles reporting the allegation I've never denied existed.
Now finish the story.
The NCAA investigated those allegations. When its Notice of Allegations came out in 2005, Clarett's claims that Tressel orchestrated free cars, improper academic assistance and cash/no-show arrangements were not substantiated.
You've gone from "show me evidence" to "here's an allegation, therefore it's true."
The irony is becoming spectacular.
@theEvanPerry We don't need 12 teams to decide a playoff when there were blowouts in the 4 team tournament.
We don't need 4 teams to decide a playoff when there were blowouts in the BCS.
Bring back the AP deciding champions!
Can't have playoff blowouts if you don't have a playoff.
