Storm Bram is on its way and will bring very strong to gale force winds of up to 100km/h or 60mph with the strongest winds along the coast. A Status Orange and Yellow Wind Warning has been issued for both Northern Ireland and Ireland.
The RNLI's safety advice is:
π Stay well back from stormy, rough seas, cliff edges and any exposed waterside location
π Always check the weather forecast and conditions and be prepared to change your plans or cancel the trip if the forecast is not safe. If in doubt, donβt go in

Carrybridge Lifeboat launched to assess a vessel which was adrift downstream of Carrybridge.
The boat was empty and adrift and the safest option open to the crew was to take the boat under tow as it was in the navigation channel. The vessel was brought back to Carrybridge marina

The RNLI is calling on the people of Carrybridge and the wider community to support their volunteer lifeboat crews this winter by taking on the RNLI Reindeer Run challenge.

Matthew Nelson who has volunteered with Carrybridge Lifeboat for more than five years, has successfully completed his Navigator Pass Out. There was little time to rest for Matthew however as the lifeboat was called out twice in the following days: https://t.co/kxRiHi4P4M @RNLI
On Thursday 14 August, a local supporter of the RNLI, Kelvin Morrison celebrated turning 21, and spent the evening with @CarrybridgeRNLI , which is his favourite charity.
