In the UK when this came out it was essentially the first performance Sedan.

Robbers would use them as Police couldnt catch em, then the UK Police began using them too 😅

If this has the 3.8 Engine its an absolute bargain, if it has the 2.4 its a bit of a bore.

They knew they were taking a chance here...

This generation of S Class was notorious for issues, contrasting the previous generation of "Money no issue Engineering"

Still it has presence, but it isnt exactly a collectable, price should be closer to R180k

Look like a Millionaire for less than the price of a Polo

In fact if you had to rent this out for Proms, Music Videos and Weddings you could make decent money

But Service & Fuel are not cheap

In the late 90's performance sedans were rising...

Jaguar released a larger than life version of its XJ6 with a Supercharged V8 & revised Body work.

The car sold for R550k in RSA which was significantly less than S600 V12 & 750iL at R1m+ in 1998/1999

Arguably the 1st car in the world to offer all round disc brakes!

This is practically a one owner car, almost unrestored and original.

In perfect condition these can reach around R1.6m and around 4500 exist

But appreciation beyond R1.5m is limited, still a very classy piece

After 2006 we didnt get the Camry...

Instead @ToyotaSA and @Lexus_SA opted to bring in the Lexus ES models which are largely based on the Toyota Camry

So this carries much of the reliability of Camrys in the UAE that see 1 Million Kilometers...

Factory Hardtops for the 996 Turbo Cabrio were not common, they used to cost a fortune so its likely this is the only one on a Manual Turbo 996...

But besides the wrong wheels, the lack of a warranty makes this a scary thought even with the low mileage...
