@NFLosophy Explain how they traded 2 1sts? They entered the draft with 1, they exited the draft with Hunter. They didn’t trade 2 firsts, they traded a 2026 1st and a 2025 2nd. So WRs/CBs in the league, on a #2 pick rookie deal, at age 21, you would trade a 2026 1st + 2025 2nd for? Tons.

@_John_Shipley Worst case move was make sure you could tag him, then draft a WR in top 3 rounds. Could revisit a year from now. Tag money wasn’t egregious for Ridley. I don’t think he’s a true #1 but he’s really good and like a 1.5. Definitely worth the tag for 1 year. Baalke messed up.

@_John_Shipley He just doesn’t answer them. He says stuff like “I don’t believe in looking in the past” which is possibly the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard (super amplified for a GM). Looking in the past is literally a requirement to learn and advance in any way, shape, or form.

@NFLosophy I’ve always understood momentum, as far as how it’s referenced in sports, as adrenaline/energy/focus/emotion, which is to say moments when players start playing at a higher level because of how everything is clicking for them at that time. And that can be contagious on a team.

There were several Super Bowl runs for the Pats where Brady was so so and was carried by D/special teams, sometimes multiple games, when all games are single elimination

@thebrettjames1 Cap hit 2024 is $11M, the 5th year is projected to be about $22M and cap hit would match that number since fully guaranteed. Hard to see a financial benefit in 2024 for extending, but definitely would make sense before 5th year hits the books.

@thebrettjames1 The only reason to pay him now is if it benefits the team/cap financially, and not just short term but really benefits. I can’t imagine he takes a low ball deal, so why rush to pay $40-45M per year or whatever it will be? On the other hand, there’s no way we don’t extend him.

@_John_Shipley He’s the best QB to ever play, but I understand he has to keep doing it for a long time for people to put him above Brady. That said, the superbowl argument is stupid in such a team dependent sport. By that measure every positional player on Pats is the greatest ever.

@doonerjax @mpalmieri_ @NateMonroeTU Nassau County passed a constitutional amendment increasing millage and it specifically requires 70% of funds raised to go towards teacher salaries, 20% admin salaries, 10% athletics. 1st year of it but looking at stats pretty sure Nassau will be highest avg teacher pay in FL.

Hey now you have less resources and we think you’ll do better somehow. Florida ranks near the bottom in every vital stat tied to financial support of schools.

@J5_Sports1 Dude you have to fix the typo. I don’t do grammar police on social media but can’t have “someone at dumb” in a tweet about how dumb somebody else is. And yes Shad Khan is terrible as an NFL owner. I think he’s smart/good at making money, but sucks for purposes of winning.

@doonerjax @mpalmieri_ @NateMonroeTU So then the change should be better funding of the schools so they can be properly staffed and lower student to teacher head counts, and higher teacher pay so the really good ones will stay. Instead this is nothing more than shifting money from public to for profit entities.
