It has been a busy week. Comprehending and following procedural text we made bracelets that reacted to uv light to go with sci then made ice cream. The learning, smiles and wonder makes it all worth it.#magic#joleaders#macsawesome
We waste so much energy trying to prove a point and make people understand us often to realize they don’t want to. Whereas committing to our peace and purpose is difficult in the short term, in the long term it becomes a much more powerful approach!

Dr. Velma Cobb reminds us of a central tenet of #SEL: that feelings are important signals that we must heed and process, especially during challenging times. #SELVoices
Dear @usedgov,
I bet we'd be better off if we reallocated time and resources to social-emotional learning instead of the time spent on standardized tests.
Thank you,
Educators
This week’s violence & unrest underscore the need to refocus our efforts on #SEL to provide a supportive environment for students & educators to reflect, communicate, & heal. Download our new brief on refocusing on the #SELRoadmap: https://t.co/TEA3XqKvrC
The acts of violence this week reinforce the need to refocus on #SEL & the overall well-being of our school communities. Our new brief on refocusing on the #SELRoadmap + other resources can support students & educators as we face new challenges: https://t.co/qjPdpu8By3
@BrittanyLBranch I think we all go into education because we want to change the world and this is a moment where we can change the future by teaching skills that every person needs but safety is my top priority.
I would love some advice or ideas on how to discuss what happened today. I would like to have a circle but questions to ask seem to escape me. #macsawesome#sel#CapitolBuilding
@WillardPenny I feel like the true root of what happened today and the climate of our society has been the inability to listen for understanding and processing emotions in a healthy manner. We as educators have a beautiful gift of teaching those skills. I don’t want to waste it.
