@WallStreetApes Insurance companies are not in the business of honoring contracts. Anyone who tells you different is selling something.... probably insurance.
@eastbaycitizen So, the story here regards how an entire government body and a political party covered up for a sexual abuser. Sorry to say, not even remotely a man-bites-dog story. More than half the nation already believes that is likely for the other half.
There was a time in my life when I thought nobody could possibly be this ignorant. Then I discovered ignorance is a choice that most people make one time or another. Some folks more, it seems.
@elonmusk The movements.... not quite right. Reality does not move to a steady tempo. Reality is not that accurately timed. Spend a few minutes watching fish in an aquarium to see what I mean.
As a time saving method, I have adopted a new habit. When I'm reading some newsie thing and it drops 'Hakeem Jeffries said'ย I fill in the rest of the story with 'Something incredibly stupid' and move on from there.
NEW: Miami Beach police chief Wayne Jones defends sending detectives to a woman's house over her "inflammatory" social media post.
Viral footage shows detectives interrogating a woman for her posts, asking if she was the one who shared them.
"Given the real, ongoing national and international concerns surrounding antisemitic attacks and recent rhetoric that has led to violence against political figures," Jones said.
The post was a comment about Miami Mayor Steven Meiner.
Jones said he "directed two of his detectives to initiate a brief, voluntary conversation regarding certain inflammatory, potentially inciteful false remarks made by a resident to ensure there was no immediate threat to the elected official or the broader community that might emerge as a result of the post."
The woman in question is Raquel Pacheco, an activist in Miami and a former political candidate.
Pathetic.
This lady in Miami had the FBI knock on her door simply because she pointed out the hypocrisy of Randy Fine. Hey @GovRonDeSantis are you gonna stand up for the first amendment or what? Are we the UK now? Is Florida gonna lock people up for wrong think?
๐ฅ๐จBREAKING: Miami police are now flagging residents Facebook posts and sending police to their homes to intimidate them for talking badly about the mayor.
We never thought this would be possible in America.
@Sk3Shakib@rkmtimes Ermagerd! That would be horrible! Women might be treated like humans instead of animals. Gays might be allowed to exist. Goats all over the middle east will not live in fear and shame. However will you survive?
@JohnCleese In my view, what the BBC is saying is it's time for Americans to cut ties with the former Great Britain. Every relationship has highs, lows, and endings.
