The drug tunnels of Ceuta
Spanish police say traffickers used a clandestine tunnel between Morocco and Ceuta to move large quantities of hashish, with some reports putting the capacity at around two tons a week.
Investigators said the system was designed to shift bales of hashish with little noise and almost no need for the crews on either side of the border to meet. The Spanish entrance was hidden inside a warehouse, behind a large soundproofed refrigerator.
The four were killed in the operation that targeted Naín Andrés Pérez Toncel, known as alias “Bendito Menor,” his partner Rosa Angélica Tarazona, known as alias “La Bebecita,” and two men described as members of his security detail.
