KAM PATTERSON SAW HIS CHANCE AND TOOK IT.
When Megan Thee Stallion announced her breakup with NBA star Klay Thompson, SNL’s Kam Patterson saw an opportunity.
He stopped by the Weekend Update desk with one mission: explain why Megan needed a new man and why that man should be him.
Here’s how the sketch worked.
@_oFAB Pass first gets talked down on but it’s straight iso guards messing up plays cause they never take catch and shoots and sit outside of plays messing up momentum we could gain. We as a community shouldn’t be ok with folk hopping in teammate lobbies treating them like bots
@_oFAB I think the real problem is everyone wanna be a star and definitely don’t wanna get outshined so they’ll make lazy or reluctant passes. Niggas rarely get 2nd opportunity wide open shots nowadays. It takes 2 plays to recognize who got more skill and nobody wanna be the role player
@nicholeaileen Absolutely nothing that crazy about the video or the lyrics. I could only assume they called her a nigga lover also for him to be a criminal and implied to be Jesus or an angel is no better. But my second point probably seems more like advocacy. I think racism was the issue here
workshopping a Garland with Ja-ish vertical lift comp, but either way he’s in the “hyper-athletic guards whose playmaking gets overshadowed” class except more efficient as a scorer than they tend to be (single season dunks career highs: Francis *96, Russ 69, Ja 58, Rose 32)
@TheNBAIndex@Free_Thinking1 Watch a YouTube video for better examples. We can agree sometimes that gather is stretched and given a bit far beyond what it should be, but in momentum the zero step is literally the step coming as you stop the dribble to complete the gather especially if nearly simultaneous.
@TheNBAIndex@Free_Thinking1 Why don’t people know what a gather step is. He’s mid step as he’s picking up. It’s the 2 he takes after full control that really matters. Yall be stiff like it’s still the 70s or sum
