There's a lot of talk about "fat shaming" nowadays and very little about "fit shaming," which is experienced by many people wanting to improve their body composition and health. Both of these behaviors are unacceptable.
Striving for more (health, fitness, financial success, whatever) is fine, but balance this hunger with an equal amount of appreciation for your prior achievements. Otherwise, your aspirations can become a significant and enduring source of stress and dissatisfaction.

The primary reason to take a diet break (by raising your calories from a deficit to maintenance for a week or so) isn't to lose fat faster per se—it's just to enjoy a bit of psychological reprieve after an extended bout of dieting.
