Teachers. If you need a Christmas resource for a lesson over the coming weeks, these may be handy. Lots of festive puzzles and some quizzes too. None are mine but gathered over the years. Hope you find them useful 🎅🎄https://t.co/Nfz2KmNQq8
Awake from 2am panicking about work. Head absolutely spinning.
This is what people don’t see.
Restless, worried, not wanting to let anybody down, just wanting to do the best job possible.
Messy planning is so important to helping students develop confidence in tackling problem solving.
How do you work with your students to embed problem solving strategy?
Developing student confidence in tackling AO3 problem solving exam Q’s through structured talk.
Prompts are laminated and stuck to all tables.
Coupled with messy planning, I’m keen for students to have time to talk about and plan responses to exam questions in all KS4 lessons.
Looks like my dept is making the tough decision to not renew Sparx Maths.
It’s a massive shame, I genuinely believe it’s the best homework interface I’ve seen in my time as a teacher.
What else are people using?
Could you just imagine if @WhiteRoseEd had a platform 🤤
@ShakinthatChalk@MrBMaths3@WhiteRoseEd Whole school policy is to not issue sanctions for incomplete /non submission but rather to reward those that complete.
This week we had 31% of students achieve over 70%.
@MrBMaths3@WhiteRoseEd A few things really. Acknowledging that whilst it’s an excellent tool, we are battling low levels of student engagement (despite our best efforts), evidence around the impact of homework on outcomes, and the trade off with cost.
@priory_primary @paulcooksonpoet @thrivetrust_UK @Hull_SLS Jamie loved this visit so much that we found a video of Paul on YouTube recorded during lockdown for Notts libraries, and we watched and joined in together!
Tough week from a professional perspective.
I put myself out there and applied for an Assistant Head position for the first time.
It would be a step up from my current middle leader post but I personally feel like I’m ready.
I would be grateful if any of my contacts who hold an SLT position would look at my personal statement / application and offer some feedback on how to strengthen it so that next time I’m a more desirable applicant.
