@autcareandshare Prepare to teach everyone *literally everyone* involved in your kid's life the very specific needs of your child. No 2 autists are the same and a huge percentage of people you will come across believe that they are.
@chroniclexi__ @Lunaautie Similarly, after my first was born, her dr berated me for "letting her stay up until 2am." But she slept until 11am that way! And *I* naturally stayed up until 3am. I don't see a problem, doc!
Judgemental people gonna judge, I guess. Ugh!
Today is #InternationalPodcastDay 🎉🥳🎊 so we thought it be a good time to GIVE AWAY FIVE (5) PODCHASER SHIRTS!!!!

I've changed my entire purchasing perspective. I now only hire autistic people for services that require communication. I can't work with allistics anymore because they cannot understand me or my needs.
In that vein, anyone on #AutisticTwitter a #marketing specialist?
Gotta love a company calling itself "Bright & Quirky", claiming to support autistics, labelling us "twice exceptional" and STILL not hiring us, even when we have the *exact* skillset they're asking for!

@UntoNuggan Ugh! Can I just say how much I hate the phrase "she perceives" in a medical file?! It's essentially 'what she's experiencing is not real, but it's clinically relevant that you, future doctor, know that.' Hulk smash on that phrase, too.
This week, we talk to Julian about how his autistic brain has helped him succeed. He says his brain is like a sports car. What car would best describe your brain?

@tinkerbellbites The reason I homeschool. I wish everyone had that option.
My experience was different, though. I loved school because it kept me away from home where the creation of my trauma was incessant.
@EtherealRose456 @AutSciPerson They did me like that for 6 hours and I was paying in cash! What the heck was I waiting for? Take money, give car, go home. 🤔
@EusticeTheSheep@OtterAlice@mcboingboing@AutSciPerson I've used Carvana twice. No sales, no crappy techniques designed to have you just say yes so you can leave. I will never use a dealership again.
But make sure you take the car to your mechanic to have it checked out within the week try-out period.
No interview, our apologies. I was putting together an outtakes episode for this week, but I had tech issues. It's still in the works, so stay tuned! Also, we could use more guests. Today's mini episode tells you what it's like to be a guest on the show:

@AspieOrphan Yeah, I learned quickly not to out people or even hint at it. 😬 I once mentioned that my dxing Dr said she knew I was autistic before testing because of the way I walked (?) and the other person kinda freaked out, "You mean you can see it?!" I knew by then to say, "I can't." 🤫
I haven't figured out why, but the best and most interesting jobs in almost all fields seem to be posted on Thursdays. Any guesses as to why?

In today's episode, we talk to filmmaker, Chris. We've noticed a trend in the show: guests like to do things their way. I do, too! Do you like rules to follow? Or doing things your own way?

Scott was so funny! This is his experience with a previous job processing photos from film. What's the weirdest picture you've ever taken? The full episode is here:
