As whistleblowers in Minnesota, here is the single most important thing you can do in a hostile environment and state where government leaders are frankly, corrupt.
Document, Document, Document. Document wrongdoing and inaction by leadership in emails, screenshot your chats with perpetrators, and create backup copies of documented wrongdoing outside of your computer in a legally acceptable manner.
When the time comes when you share evidence of wrongdoing or retaliation occurs, the first thing you will be asked for is written proof that wrongdoing occurred. And this is best documented via email, meeting notes, screenshots, and other types of documents.
It is sad that we need to do this but in a state like Minnesota where the odds are completely stacked against you, you really must document and show written proof and potentially present that data to authorities outside of the state.
🚨 Our identity doesn't change the facts.
Deputies raised concerns through their union for years. Those concerns were known long before this election.
Maybe the focus should be on fixing the problem—not on a witch hunt to identify those speaking up.
The facts deserve answers.
Over 40 deputies participated 2024 deputy survey, raising serious concerns about leadership, morale, and workplace culture in the Carver County Sheriff's Office.

Will you investigate, ask the hard questions?
🚨 The best recruiting tool in law enforcement is your current workforce.

A former Carver County deputy has spoken out.
His firsthand account includes being told that taking FMLA leave while his wife was dying was “causing significant stress to the Sheriff’s Office,” along with allegations of blame-shifting and a lack of accountability.
MYTH: "The sheriff is elected, so the County Board has no oversight."
FACT: Every department is expected to follow workplace standards and applicable policies.
Rules for everyone else—but not the Sheriff's Office? That's not accountability.

Questioning government isn't un-American—it's the foundation of America.
Many of our Founders wrote under pseudonyms because they feared retaliation for speaking out.
250 years later, too many people still fear the consequences of questioning those in power.

Carver County Sheriff’s Office is in a culture & retention crisis.
A deputy survey made it clear: the toxic culture stems from poor leadership and management — not the job or the pay.
After the deputy union exposed the problems, leadership — including the Sheriff — did nothing
Sheriff Luke Hennen, a simple question:
Do you still stand by your endorsement of Chief Deputy Pat Barry after the 2024 deputy survey revealed widespread concerns about leadership, morale, and a hostile workplace?
Carver County deserves answers. #CarverSheriff

If the response was to focus on identifying who sent the email instead of fixing the workplace, deserve answers
