We already pay 17.8% of the US economy on healthcare, more than any developed nation; yet all those nations have universal coverage. We pay more in insurance premiums than they pay in taxes.

You can’t apply a capitalistic model to healthcare because being in bad health normally negatively impacts your ability to make money.
