@HHolmGJ@KerryDonovanCO I’m fact the program DID lower the risk of trying less thirsty crops like small grains and long term cover crops while helping farmers spread water on dry years. But our politicians are running around talking about “lease and cease” which isn’t a thing! (Yes I’m very mad)
@KerryDonovanCO Whoa boy, indeed. The reality is we learned that farmers/ranchers can save water through deficit irrigation of grass/alfalfa and by growing low water use crops. Unfortunately, we also learned there is little political support for water conservation.
