With the Times opening up its paywall this weekend, here are some previous articles I’ve written relevant to the election- starting with this one from July 2022 on why net zero is a vote winner ⬇️

Very eye-opening to see who's leading the way on clean energy investment – and who's leading on fossil fuels
China: Clean energy investment 3.7x fossil fuels
Europe: 5.5x more in clean energy
N America: Biggest investor in fossil fuels
Middle East: 5.4x more on fossil fuels
#IPCC congratulates former IPCC author Claudia Sheinbaum on being elected as Mexico’s first female president.
Ms Sheinbaum was a contributing author & lead author to the Working Group III contributions to IPCC’s Fourth & Fifth Assessment Reports.
Huge congratulations to @Claudiashein, first climate scientist ever elected as head of state, and first female President of Mexico. What this means for Mexico's climate commitments and action remains to be seen, but in this year of important elections it is encouraging to see the outcomes of this week.

What an amazing couple of weeks - am I dreaming? 🤩
This is an exceptional piece of public service journalism from @dpcarrington. It is also wholly unsurprising and unbearably bleak. https://t.co/fy2YlSrmqD
If you've ever been sailing you might know the feeling of waking up in the morning when the currents have dragged the anchor, finding yourself adrift with no idea where you're going. This happened to me in my sailing days and I can tell you, it is terrifying. Bear with me..[1/5]
Some news *gulp*.
I’ve decided to move on from @theCCCuk after six amazing years and more than 100 publications.
I’ve worked on energy and climate policy for 13 years now. I joined the civil service 20 years ago.
I’d like to see a different side to the climate challenge.
Whether you agree with the decision or not, it has clearly been made on a point of principle and it gives the climate the consideration it requires, but so rarely gets, from politicians. For that, Skidmore is to be applauded.
It was a powerful milestone last year to partner with @BAFTA on the Storytelling for Action Pavilion at #COP28. We look forward to their next steps!

Changing minds isn't about attacking people's views. It starts with seeking to understand their views.
"You're wrong!" signals arrogance and elicits defensiveness.
"I'm surprised to hear that. Can you walk me through your reasoning?" shows curiosity and invites thoughtfulness.
