Today Casa Relvas has 360 Merino sheep to help preserve the ecosystem and the soil. From harvest to budbreak, our sheep live in the vineyard and help to control grass growth which allows us to avoid the use of herbicides and not tillage during the autumn and winter months.

Turnips, radishes, mustards, cabbages and peas are examples of plants we use at Casa Relvas to decompress the soil. These plants belong to the category of cover crops or green manure crops, which are grown specifically to naturally and sustainably improve the health of the soil.

We are preparing some barrels to receive Alicante Bouschet that will age for a year and will integrate one of our top wines! 🍷

Did you know that the cover crop between the rows of vines protects the soil against water and wind erosion and contributes to the rational and sustainable maintenance of the vineyard, thanks to its ability to attract beneficial organisms that feed on parasitic species?

We have been acquiring new vineyards in different sub-regions of Alentejo. This gave rise to the desire to produce wines made from other native grape varieties and give rise to great new wines.

Casa Relvas Tinta Miúda is born at Vinha de Pisões in Vidigueira. This vineyard, located in the foothills of the Serra do Mendrois rich in deep clay-limestone soils, allowing a great retention of water and thus providing an enormous freshness, maturity and complexity to the wines

Pé de Mãe is the name given to the vines selected for vegetative reproduction. These vines are chosen not only for the quality of their fruit but also for their good adaptation to a particular terroir and resistance to wood diseases. Let´s taste it?

Ruby color with violet reflections. Intense aroma of red fruits and wild fruit. In the mouth it is balanced and round. Good finish.
