Dawg, I feel no right to comment on someone’s decision as a parent. But you aired this all out online, so here we go.

Fact check 1: You said that the miscarriage rate was high for DS, which is true, but only for up to 10-12 weeks. You guys were at 5 months. Miscarriage rate was drastically down atp.

Fact check (kind of) 2: The “90% abortion rate” stat is wildly controversial due to a multitude of variables (time period, access to testing, cultural/relgious). The stat can vary from 30%-90% because of this.

Abortion is already an iffy topic in today’s climate, but having it so near to the third trimester is almost borderline murder no matter which way you look at it. 5 months?!

Quality of life has drastically improved for people with DS over the years. Many of them don’t require assisted living. My neighbor is a 60 year old man with DS who is able to live in his own home and work.
