I am always praising my students for the amazing things they do in the moment, whether it be sitting for a lesson, writing their letters and numbers the right way or being a great friend.
Praise is not just about acknowledging a job well done, but we praise what we value and it sets the standard of what is expected. Praise improves performance of everyone.
Differentiation is not just about academic needs, but also relational needs. Some students may need to be heard, extra support, a hug for the little ones, or even encouragement to try harder. These are as important as academic needs. Education is relational after all.
Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there, and not just the biological ones. The ones who chose you, the ones who became a second mom and the teachers who, for so many students become mom like. I call my students my Kids, and I am sure many other do it to.
Working on our sensory and fine motor abilities :) Some shaving cream fun, working on writing on letter, names and just having some good old messy fun! #teacherlife#abc123#sped#ABA#sensory
