I just looked up our old place in Alexandria, just south of 495.. in 2010, our 3 bedroom was $1600/month and now it's ~$2400. That's 20-30 min by Metro from downtown DC

I memorized syntax, browser APIs, accessibility techniques, and performance optimizations, security patterns, and learned dozens of libraries and frameworks.

Now I'm trying to decide what knowledge still has value.

Probably an overestimate - I was already near my cap, didn't want to wait, and was also running a couple other experiments

Yes, it made a number of mistakes - mostly minor - during earlier experimentation so I had it a) update unit tests first and b) give me a sample or list of what it was going to do before doing all of it. I rejected/fixed probably 5% of its suggestions

About 15 years ago in the project itself, I spent a LOT of time standardizing things because it was easier to do autoloading, wire in hooks, etc. That made it magnitudes easier because lots of things were symmetric.. that said, I was surprised about how many places I missed or things were not as symmetric as I expected

I've now given it the old roadmap along with some competitive/comparator projects to get a read on what maybe useful and level of effort for each.

Since a LOT of the low hanging fruit is gone, having it write formal specs with phases for review first now
