@scalzi I calculated that I was paid 18 cents a minute after tax to wait with that kid. One day I earned $3.70... Only to have their mom show up, frustrated, and say "Just do *this*" and physically dragged them off. Ma'am I can't legally do that. She called me incompetent.

@scalzi I was a monitor for a SpEd bus (school prog for 18-21s) and they do *not* pay enough for the crap the drivers get. Personal experience: if Kiddo does not want to get off the bus? You wait. You wait until authorization from the parent to return to school. You cannot make Kiddo go.

@seananmcguire Gooshy. Can't do it. That combo of soft but just firm enough to really feel it on the tongue. Guacamole is the usual example I go with but others sneak up on me and it's an immediate gag reflex.

In addition to the children who are too young for vaccination, one of my dearest friends is medically UNABLE to get vaccinated. I owe them everything I can do to make the world safer for them. I owe MYSELF the same behavior around the voluntary unvaccinated, to stay safer.
