You are not a data point. You’re a beloved child of God with moral agency and divine potential.
I invite you to join me at https://t.co/DvO30jyBlh on June 7 as we discuss how to hear God's voice in an age of artificial intelligence. You are not a data point. You’re a beloved child of God with moral agency and divine potential.
True faith is focused in and on the Lord Jesus Christ and is a principle of action, trust, and power.
As we act in accordance with the truths of the Savior’s gospel and trust in His promises, we are blessed with the spiritual capacity to “rise up” and press forward through the challenges of mortality while experiencing the joys His gospel makes possible in our lives.
“Sometimes we reflect on all of our responsibilities at home, school, work, and church and wonder how we can achieve a balance among the many competing demands on our time. Instead of driving ourselves crazy trying to do everything at the same time, we should identify the few fundamental things that are our highest priorities. We then can strive to give each of them the attention they need—one at a time.
“When you are at home, choose to make home the priority. When you are at school, choose to make school the priority. When you are at work, choose to make work the priority. When you are worshipping at home or at church, choose to make worship the priority.
“It may sound simplistic, but we should not get frustrated and waste effort and time trying to achieve a perfect equilibrium among all of the important things we need to do. As we pray sincerely for God’s help to identify what matters most, He will guide and assist us to focus our efforts day by day.”

This is the way I needed to think today, and not think about everything else I needed to do.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released a new photo of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, along with a photo of the quorum. The pictures, which were taken in the Church Administration Building on March 4, 2026, include Elder Clark G. Gilbert, who was called as an Apostle on February 11.

Sometimes trusting the Lord means letting Him reshape the plans you once felt sure about.
Follow Him when the path is clear—and when it isn’t.
He knows you perfectly and understands your needs completely.
Elder Quentin L. Cook (@CookQuentinL) challenged Brigham Young University (@BYU) students on Tuesday to increase their spirituality to better navigate the world of artificial intelligence.
“Choose truth when deception is easy,” the Apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints told students gathered in the Marriott Center in Provo, Utah, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. “Slow down enough to listen to the Spirit and allow Him to direct you. We must all learn to use technology as a servant, not a master. The future of the Church and our very civilization depend on members and individuals who have deep faith, moral courage, and the ability to navigate an increasingly complex world.”

"My challenge for you precious students is to choose truth when deception is easy. Slow down enough to listen to the Spirit and allow Him to direct you. We must all learn to use technology as a servant, not a master. [...] Let me emphasize again that in the AI age, you need to choose truth when deception is easy." - Elder Quentin L. Cook
#BYUDevo
There may be times when you may think of other, more capable people who could more successfully accomplish what you have been called to do.
The counsel I shared with students at @byuhawaii this weekend applies to all of us. Remember that the Lord put you here, now. And He did it for a reason. This is your season. You may not see the reason clearly now, but faith requires that we proceed without seeing—trusting the Lord.
Let us not get discouraged or frustrated when things don’t go perfectly. We are all a work in progress. Through Jesus Christ, we will be able to become our best selves and accomplish the work God wants us to do.
If you feel discouraged in your efforts to hold family prayer or study the scriptures together, remember this: Power comes through consistency—not perfection.
At his BYU-I Devotional, Neil L. Andersen referred to the talk President Oaks gave at BYU—
“President Oaks used a phrase I noted: “PROTECT YOURSELF.”
He used the word protect or protection three times.
•PROTECT yourself with the weekly renewing of your covenants by partaking of the sacrament.
•PROTECT yourself … with consistent efforts to live according to those sacred covenants.
•PROTECT yourself … with regular attendance at the temple.
He also said—
“After quoting President Nelson 12 days ago, President Oaks issued more sobering counsel. He said,
“One of the many reasons you will need the constant influence of the Holy Ghost is that you live in a season in which the adversary has become SO EFFECTIVE at disguising truth that if you don’t have the Holy Ghost, you WIlL be deceived.
MANY obstacles lie ahead.
The DISTRACTIONS will be MANY.”
Here are the words that stand out to me:
season;
adversary;
disguising truth;
“if you don’t have the Holy Ghost,” “you WILL be deceived;”
obstacles;
distractions.
Interestingly, he did not say that without the constant influence of the Holy Ghost, you might be deceived, or you could be deceived. He said if you don’t have the Holy Ghost, you WILL be deceived.
Let’s all repeat this important warning from the prophet of God and instead of using the word “you,” let’s insert the word “I.”—
“One of the many reasons I will need the constant influence of the Holy Ghost is that I live in a season in which the adversary has become so effective at disguising truth that if I don’t have the Holy Ghost, I will be deceived. Many obstacles lie ahead. The distractions will be many.”
So, what do you do to RIVET YOUR ATTENTION, to ASSURE that you survive spiritually by having the constant influence of the Holy Ghost?
You LOOK CAREFULLY at your daily activities.
Am I praying?
Am I thoughtfully partaking of the sacrament?
What am I putting into my mind?
Am I associating with others who seek the constant influence of the Holy Ghost?
What could be my distractions, my obstacles, or my deceptions?
You pray for inspiration and courage to MAKE ANY CHANGES you need to make.”

30 years ago, at a Stake Center in Boise Idaho, as a young primary president, I sat in a training meeting and was taught something I have never forgotten. Sister Michaelene Grassli, the Primary General President at the time, pulled out a pie-chart. She used it, to show us how time, in the week of a primary child was divided up. She first pointed out a large portion that represented the time they spend sleeping. Another large portion was time spent in school. Next, came the miscellaneous time outside of sleep and school.
And FINALLY, she pointed to the tiniest of slices and said “And this is how much time we have to teach them in Primary. We only have this small amount of time to COUNTER the VOICES OF THE WORLD that surround them every day and speak so loudly in their ears. This time is SACRED. Be very careful in how you use it. Make sure you are using it in the way Heavenly Father wants you to be using it”.
Those words “be very careful in how you use it” have changed my life. I learned a very important principle that day... our time IS sacred, and what we do with it matters to the Lord!
Elder Kevin G. Brown said this: “Agency is the GIFT to choose and
act for ourselves.
It is also the RESPONSIBILITY to choose well.
Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for that privilege with His precious blood. Sometimes we might believe that agency means doing whatever we want. But the fact that the price was paid means agency is a SACRED GIFT.
We cannot make a choice without being responsible for the consequences. Why do we have agency?
To choose GOOD.
To choose CHRIST.
To choose ETERNAL LIFE—again and again.”
Every day we make choices that either INCREASE or DECREASE the influence of Jesus Christ in our lives.
President Nelson said: “I PLEAD with you today to counter the lurethe world by MAKING TIME FOR THE LORD in your life, each and every day.” It was a plea he made often when he was the prophet.
For me, tracking my time has made a big difference! Just as we often do with our money, once we start actually tracking every minute of our day, it is easy to see what we are giving our time to.
When I first did this, it was very surprising, and somewhat depressing-- I was shocked at how little time I was giving to the Lord! And how much time I WAS giving to the things of the world.
As we have often heard taught in General Conference, we live FAR below our privileges!
Heavenly Father wants to give us so much more! Are there blessings we are missing out on because we don’t make enough time for the Lord in our lives?
What we watch, what we read, what we listen to, WHO we listen to, has a much greater effect on us than maybe we would like to believe.
Using our agency to choose the things of God is no easy thing. Satan is the master of getting us so busy and preoccupied that we neglect the most important things... the things that keep us close to the Savior.
That is when our life may start to feel SO HEAVY to us, when we are not making ENOUGH time for the Lord.
We were not able to increase the small amount of time we had to teach Primary children, but I absolutely could increase the size of the slice in my personal life!
Years ago, I heard the quote “We give our lives to that which we give our time.” It is absolutely true. What we decide to give our time to, will make all the difference! Not only in our own lives, but also, in the lives of our families, our friends, and in the lives of generations past and generations to come.
The more we FILL OUR LIVES WITH THE LIGHT OF JESUS CHRIST, the easier it is to feel hopeful, the easier it is to receive direction, the easier it becomes to let go of the worries of the world and rejoice in the good news of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our time IS SACRED. How we use it DOES MATTER to the Lord. He paid the ultimate price so that we could use it wisely.
Jesus Christ LOVES US!
And He invites us to walk with Him! What a GREAT blessing that is!!

Gordon B. Hinckley:
“Sacrifice is the very essence of religion; it is the keystone of happy home life, the basis of true friendship, the foundation of peaceful community living, of sound relations among people and nations. …
“Without sacrifice there is no true worship of God. I become increasingly convinced of that every day. ‘The Father gave his Son, and the Son gave his life,’ and we do not worship unless we give—give of our substance, give of our time, give of our strength, give of our talent, give of our faith, give of our testimonies”
-Teachings of Gordon B. Hinckley [1997], 565
Nearly 30 years ago, President Henry B. Eyring, who was then a member of the Quorum of the Twelve, said something in general conference that I have not forgotten. I shared his insight this past Sunday as I spoke to the students of BYU–Idaho.
“One of the ways we may know that the warning is from the Lord is that the law of witnesses, authorized witnesses, has been invoked. When the words of prophets seem repetitive, that should rivet our attention and fill our hearts with gratitude to live in such a blessed time” (“Finding Safety in Counsel,” Apr. 1997).
Two weeks ago, President Dallin H. Oaks repeated the warning issued by President Russell M. Nelson from general conference in April 2018:
“In coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost.”
You pray for inspiration and courage to make any changes you need to make.
Let us be true disciples of Jesus Christ. The Redeemer of Israel knows you, loves you, and will strengthen you as you seek to draw closer to Him.
Christ resurrected, to show us that as another Gift to us, we can all be resurrected…
Christ appeared to Joseph Smith, to show us that He fulfills all promises and that He will soon come again…
Christ answers our prayers, to show us He is always there for us
Come Follow Me was powerful tonight:
Christ got baptized, to show us all that we too must be baptized…
Christ healed the sick and tended to all, to show us that we can have the power to heal and who we need to focus on…
Christ died, to show us that we all one day will die…
