Canadian Corporations have $32 Trillion in assets. A one time corporate asset tax of just 4% would instantly obliterate our federal debt.
In fact, Corporate assets gained $7 Trillion during the pandemic. An 18.6% tax on those gains is a small price to pay for fairness.

By doubling our debt, running massive deficits even in good times, pushing business out of Canada with taxes and red tape, Trudeau/NDP have made Canada’s economy weak and vulnerable to turbulent times ahead.

We need a solid leader who will remove the taxes, debt & red tape to bring home jobs, growth and affordable homes, gas and food.

@innercitypress Judge Liman may have overlooked the fact that she cannot get fees in any other manner than 47.1 because all of the other avenues were precluded by settlement. The ONLY carve-out was her 47.1 motion, which only asked for this single manner of shifting/damage award.

@innercitypress The problem with 47.1 is that everyone has been told it was designed as an immediate deterrent that hurts a malicious plaintiff and end the suit immediately. That's not how it was written. It merely adds risk to following through with the full civil process. cc: @andysignore

@innercitypress Gottlieb is trying to snow the judge that settling instead of obtaining judgment means a waiver of 54. Not saying the quiet part that settlement means the defendant can't ask for fee shifting anymore, because 54 is the means by which fee shifting is done in federal court.

@innercitypress Unlike Anti-SLAPP motions, which merely require the failure of the plaintiff to meet a legal threshold to succeed, 47.1 has specific requirements for findings of fact that need a jury to determine.
