@RashidaTlaib I’m so heartsick! Can you cross over from Jordan? I think most West Bank residents need to go through Jordan and taking that route would send a powerful message.
Every semester I know that I am failing all my classes. Then I don’t and think next time I’ll see through my mind’s tricks. But every semester it feels too real.
@LaDonnaMcGohan @ReadTheSyllabus When my students submit electronically they take the screen shots so rushed, sometimes oversize, the work is cut off, the image is illegible, missing a name, pages out of order. I’m a grad student and it costs me a ton of time using photoshop to fix them enough to grade. 😭
@TheAtomicMommy I want to like because you brought it to our attention but it’s so horrible. I don’t want this or any version of it to have ever been a thing.
I told my students that I let them have notecards on exam because they are the best study tool I know, but they are also like Dumbo’s magic feather ... they don’t need it to fly but It helps with confidence. They listened!
So, I think my masters project just died. Which is ok. I was trying to help on a project where any fool could see I wasn’t wanted or needed and I was just in the way. Back to the drawing board!
@astro_jje It’s ok to wear whatever you want whenever you want. Like, lipstick only seems freaky to me but I know a lot of people that rock the heck out of it.
@evodevodeanna @hormiga Well, you’ve opened my eyes. I’ve been working at a community college and I go to the kind of school where all our students work. The difficulty they have getting seen by top tier institutions upsets me. I’m going to add the GRE to the list of barriers and see what I can do! 💚
@cmkoeb @evodevodeanna @hormiga That’s true. 😞 For me, the thing that keeps me going is the hope that I will make changes for my students. I tried grad school ten years ago and was utterly destroyed by the process. I’m trying again and it’s better. But I’m super lucky, my students are not.
@evodevodeanna @hormiga Yes, but when you graduate you’ll be in a position to fix this broken system so future generations won’t have to deal with what you did!
