@NeuroRebel At first, I was ecstatic, I thought I'd finally found people who would accept me/who I could relate to. Now, I've realised that being autistic doesn't stop you from being ignorant, illogical or spiteful. 😢
Q3: I expect honesty from my friends. I expect that they won't play mind games, I expect that they reply to my messages in a timely fashion. I expect loyalty #AutChat
Q1: I always remember your birthday, listen to all your problems, help you move house, lend you money, I'm never late, I never let you down, I'd do anything for you, I'd go places I don't want to go - it's still not enough #AutChat
@HayleyMorganAut I've got friends who are Hare Krishnas and their recipes contain asafoetida as a substitute for onions and garlic (which they're not supposed to eat!) 🙂
@AnAutisticWitch Absolutely true. I tried proper eye contact the other day just to see what it was like and it felt like being burned alive by a dragon
@KatHumble @AnneUndone1 @TaniaAMarshall@IndieAutistic@Girl_by_the_Aga@PaulWhiteleyPhD@tclementsuk Yes, Greta Thunberg has come as a shock to many here (in France). Unlike other countries, we don't have any (openly) autistic people in the public sphere for reasons other than their autism. Demonstrating competence, much less leadership, is not what we're supposed to do.
@autismfeelslike It's not purely an autistic thing, but it may be more likely in autistic people as many have difficulty socialising. I'm in a similar position to you atm and I'm now faced with having to construct an independent social life as a matter of urgency.
@NationalAutism ..and the expression on the baby's face is hilarious! It looks like it can't decide whether it wants out or not. A combination of confusion, bemusement and resignation.
