We often hear about the 7 Wonders of the World, both ancient and modern.
But what about wonders of the Medieval Age?
Here are seven — and what happened to them... 🧵
How to say no. A superb article: "In a world that often values compliance over authenticity....we find ourselves entangled in a web of obligations, constantly saying yes to requests that may not align with our true desires or priorities. Yet, buried beneath the layers of societal expectations & internalised guilt lies the power to reclaim our autonomy".
This article explains:
- the reasons why we always say yes
- why we should learn to say no
- how to recognise when not to say yes
- tips for learning how to say no
- different (positive) ways of saying no
- how to deal with unwelcome responses

In her latest column for The Doctor, @TheBMA RB chair @DrLatifaPatel acknowledges that many doctors are currently feeling exhausted - but says their union is there to support them and provides “opportunities to make a difference”.

Ask the Great British public for ideas about the NHS...we have the predictable bin fire of opinions - too many managers, fines, charge immigrants, nurses are too fat, they don't need degrees etc etc. I pity the civil servant who has to sift through this: https://t.co/6tYUQfkum8
"The NHS has some excellent medical leaders. But overall, leadership roles are not an attractive proposition for many doctors ... and organisations fail to benefit from their expertise in vision building, ultimately resulting in poorer outcomes and waste."

"What is your reality?" Was the question asked to our healthcare professionals from our last speaker of the day Terrence Sykes. Having a healthy workplace is so important but with so many factors working against you burnout, money ect.. it's easy to see why we sometimes find it so hard.
So I'm going to ask you the same question. In work this week, no glitz, no glam; What has been your reality?
@BrianwDolan I’m all ears on this Brian. Really interested in how relationships are feeling at the moment too, and whether restorative practice might be a real help in helping people embrace whatever the 10 year plan will mean in practice.

The lack of this investment is revealing. The NHS “system” is people. Supporting them to succeed in providing safe, high quality care should be an organising principle. Research like this 👇 would help…
Just announced @julianhartley1 will be appointed as CQC’s new chief executive - he has a huge job on his hands. A long serving NHS trust chief, he'll need to put patients' interests first ahead of the trust sector.
Sir Julian Hartley will be leaving @NHSProviders to take over as the next chief executive of the independent healthcare regulator @CareQualityComm.
Interim arrangements ahead of the appointment of a new chief executive will be confirmed in due course.

Before a Cost improvement project is implemented in your dept in the #nhs , please can managers consider the knock on effect of the increased work / cost for other depts . There is a risk of patients falling between the gaps of such siloed budgets. (and no overall savings made )
timely blog on NHS productivity which reminds us that the productivity challenge is a people challenge - staff need to be valued, supported and given the tools to do the job https://t.co/lS4zgpERCO
