Public representatives should be working to lower tensions and promote respect - not associating themselves with scenes that are intimidating and divisive.
Yesterday, the MP for Upper Bann made a choice.
It was the wrong choice.
The people of Upper Bann deserve better.
South Down is a welcoming place defined by beautiful forests, mountains, and beaches - not masked intimidation
Next time you visit @carlalockhart you should look into what our constituency actually has to offer, rather than standing with masked men intimidating women & children
“She cared about people and she fought for the rights of others. She had an independence of spirit. The picture is of a strong, loving, independent young woman. She knew what she wanted from life and was not inhibited from enjoying her life on her own terms.” - Mr Justice Kinney.
Natalie & Baby Dean 💗💙
Justice was served for you both today. You would be beyond proud of the grace with which your family have carried themselves throughout. Fighting for you both&using every ounce of their strength&energy to tackle & end VAWAG. We will redouble our efforts
I want to send my love and support to Natalie McNally’s family, to her mum and dad, Bernie and Noel, and to her brothers Declan, Niall, and Brendan.
The strength and dignity the McNally family have shown through these years of unimaginable pain has been remarkable.
Natalie was a beautiful and talented young woman with a truly vibrant personality that we have all come to know through her family, and that is how she deserves to be remembered.
I want to pay tribute to how the McNally family have found the strength, amidst this heartache, to become powerful advocates to end violence against women and girls.
Every one of us has a responsibility to ensure no family ever endures the heartbreak the McNallys have faced, and to do all we can to bring an end to violence against women and girls.
A lovely moment, beautifully captured. This is what most of society in NI looks like every day - people respecting each other with decency. It is vital that we in the media reflect that spirit of togetherness just as much as we report on division. After all, unity is every bit as much a part of our story as disagreement.
I am greatly concerned that any further delay in progressing the Good Jobs Bill will delay paid neonatal care leave coming into effect.
I hope that we can urgently get Executive agreement to the draft Bill getting into the Assembly so that this important support can be put in place for parents whose babies need neonatal care.

🔥 “You either stand with teachers or you don’t.”
@danielbakersf on attempts by the DUP Education Minister to push through a bill that would sanction teachers for taking strike action.
We will continue to be the voice of teachers and stand up for their rights.
The heckling of @CathyMasonSF as she spoke passionately in favour of teachers from DUP benches was as childish as it was misogynistic.
Yet she continued with class 👏🏻
Dr David Marshall, the Chief Electoral Officer, today (1 June 2026) gave notice that Chloe Devine, a member of the Sinn Féin party, had been returned to fill the vacancy in Lurgan District Electoral Area in Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.
#InspectionsBill - lets bust some myths together
1. Teachers do not fear accountability.
2. We have ALWAYS allowed safeguarding inspections to take place including during strike action.
3. The RE aspect of the Bill can be done via regulations & does not require legislation.
@reason_ni@sinnfeinireland During industrial action we do not co-operate with the inspectorate except if it is re: safeguarding and child protection. It really is the only tool available to us to secure leverage as our strike action avoids impacting the child and learning.
