😶 Greece is holding up the EU's new sanctions package against Russian gas — Financial Times
Athens is opposing a proposed ban on transporting Russian LNG to third countries, arguing it could hurt Greek shipping company Dynagas, whose tankers are involved in exports from Russia's Yamal LNG project.
Because of Greece's objections, approval of the EU's 21st sanctions package has been delayed.
Summary of the mood about Fedorov’s firing across Nato-Europe and Ukraine, as assessed by the unscientific sample of my signal inbox this morning:
Pissed. Some confused. Mostly just very, very pissed.
What legendary Azov commander Denys Prokopenko said about Mykhailo Fedorov's resignation.
"In a fairly short time, Mykhailo Fedorov, as Minister of Defense, managed to implement many important steps that strengthened the defense capabilities of our state and weakened the enemy’s military potential. I want to thank him for the work he has done and for the consistent state-oriented position he maintains in everything he does.
Regarding the future Minister of Defense, I can say the following. Igor Klymenko, while serving as Minister of Internal Affairs, devoted a great deal of attention and time to frontline issues — both in the direction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and in purely military matters. In particular, the minister actively worked on transitioning the army to a corps-based system. He consistently defends the interests of National Guard servicemen and pays careful attention to the proper provision of National Guard units. I believe that from now on, this approach will be applied to fighters from all structures defending Ukraine on the front lines.
Igor Klymenko also has sufficient experience and understands how to set up processes in order to bring order to the issues of mobilization and the work of the Territorial Recruitment Centers (TCC) — one of the critical areas for our military today.
And one last thing on this topic. I advise all critics of “Soviet-style thinking” who dream of at least touching NATO standards with the tip of one finger to read the book by U.S. Navy Admiral William McRaven, Make Your Bed, which was promoted in Azov back in 2017. Yes, discipline also exists in “Azov” — we too make our beds and brush our teeth.
The 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov” continues to carry out its assigned combat tasks. The front will not collapse.
I wish the new Minister success in his position."
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ousted his popular defense minister, a digital guru who drew support from Ukrainians and Western allies for his efforts to promote modern technologies to outsmart Russia and fight corruption. https://t.co/uEjmi0h2vf
It was hard to get the Estonian Parliament to ratify the EU loan to Greece when it was collapsing
Back then we were much poorer than Greece. Yet out of solidarity the parliament voted in favour.
Now Greece shows no solidarity, it's just out for itself.

🚨 Protests against the government's Defense Ministry shake-up are spreading across Ukraine
Demonstrations have already begun in Kyiv, Lviv, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Odesa, Kryvyi Rih, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Dnipro.
A rare sight: Ukrainians usually take to the streets demanding someone's resignation. Today, they're protesting against one.
Ireland supplies russia with a key component used by it to produce missiles and drones which kill innocent Ukrainians every day. Ireland is directly Implicated in daily killings of Ukrainians.

The US State Department is offering grants of 1 million to 3 million dollars to European organizations promoting MAGA-aligned policies, including anti-EU and pro-Russian positions. The initiative marks one of the Trump administration's first concrete efforts to openly finance ideologically aligned political movements across Europe, which are already backed up by the Kremlin through unofficial networks. The question is, how long is Europe going to tolerate these foreign agents?
🇺🇦✊ In many cities of Ukraine, people took to the streets to protest the resignation of Fedorov and appointment of Klymenko as Minister of Defense.
The protests are taking place in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Lviv, Cherkasy, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Ivano-Frankivsk and more!
MPs say that during a meeting with them, Zelensky named two reasons for Fedorov’s dismissal:
— Syrskyi and Fedorov had different views on how the war should be conducted;
— Fedorov made procurements that had not been approved by the General Staff because he considered some items unnecessary, others less important, and certain things more important.
Zelensky said: “Ideally, both Fedorov and Syrskyi should be dismissed, but for now that is impossible.”
All of this is true. I had heard it before.
Fedorov refused to buy many of the things the General Staff wanted, but he purchased what the brigades were actually asking for — pickup trucks, drones, and so on. Syrskyi did not like this, nor did the companies from which such equipment had previously been purchased at his request.
Fedorov wanted to fight more through technology, while Syrskyi wanted to fight with manpower. They constantly argued during meetings.
One of them clearly had to go. And Zelensky made his choice: Fedorov would be the one to leave.
The president chose the past over the future.
Russia is already celebrating. For the past six months, they have fiercely hated only two Ukrainians — Fedorov and Magyar. Now only one remains...
A HUGE MISTAKE BY THE PRESIDENT.
With this decision, he has ended his political career after the next election.
I do not believe this is an outright catastrophe for the country, as some are already claiming, because Fedorov was not the only person making all the decisions. However, the number of problems will probably increase due to less effective management and greater corruption within the government.
🚨 Two prominent figures in Ukraine’s defense establishment announced their departures this morning
Military expert Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov has ended his work as an adviser to Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov. For international readers: Flash is one of Ukraine’s best-known specialists in drones, communications, and electronic warfare. He worked with the military and defense developers, analyzed Russian tactics, and helped forecast new threats.
“My mood is terrible. But I will not abandon my path. I will continue defending the country and helping my fellow soldiers,” Beskrestnov wrote.
Soon after, Deputy Air Force Commander Pavlo Yelizarov submitted his resignation from the Armed Forces. He linked the decision to Fedorov’s removal: “I believe this is a great harm to the country’s defense capability.”

After spending a week clearing the Russians out of the Azov Sea, Ukraine has officially moved on to doing the same on the Black Sea.
Now two days into this Black Sea campaign that destroyed 20 Russian ships in just its first 12 hours, Ukraine brings in the naval drones, hitting two huge tankers in spectacular fashion.
Заступник командувача Повітряних Сил Павло Єлізаров подав рапорт про свою відставку.
Причина — відставка міністра оборони Федорова.
▪️До призначення в Міноборони Єлізаров був командиром надзвичайно ефективного спецпідрозділу «Lasar's group».
